Ther servers were amazing! Very friends and welcoming! The fish melted in your mouth. I felt like they could have provided larger slices of the ahi. I had a lot of salmon, large slices of hamachi, and decent portions of mackerel, but the ahi sashimi slices were rather small in comparison. The oyster mushroom and scallop dynamite is a must try!

The sashimi is to die for :) Have loved this place for over 15 years. I was concerned that the change in ownership during the pandemic would have changed the place. No need to worry, it was a good as ever!!

Our visit to this restaurant was extremely disappointing and fell far short of any standard of professionalism or courtesy. While we understand that arriving 16 minutes late for our 7:30 PM reservation was our responsibility, the way the staff handled the situation afterward was unacceptable. We were told we would be seated at the next available table, yet after waiting for 30 minutes, we watched the host seat another party with a later reservation directly ahead of us without any explanation. When we were finally seated, the service only worsened. No water was brought to the table, the server was curt and unwelcoming while taking our order, and even after we finished, the menus were left on the table despite our requests. The final straw came when we politely tried to express our concerns to a staff member, who abruptly turned their back and walked away before we could finish speaking. This dismissive and disrespectful behavior stands in stark contrast to the principles of Japanese hospitality, or Omotenashi. High tourist traffic is not a justification for openly hostile service. I would strongly advise choosing another restaurant in Oahu where guests are treated with basic respect and consideration.

I was walking by... I had no idea what to expect but was pleasantly surprised by everything. The draft beer was great, the sashimi was shockingly fresh and the selection was also what I'd expect on the mainland. This place is inconspicuous but don't let that stop you from opening the door and sitting down. This place deserves more stars than shown on Google. Definitely coming back here.

We had an 8:30 PM reservation and were actually the first to arrive. However, the staff gave our table to another group before us, which was disappointing.
We placed our full order before 9 PM, but our second dish didn’t arrive until around 9:40 PM — by that time, our drinks and appetizer were long finished. Everything we ordered was raw (sashimi and sushi), so it really shouldn’t have taken that long.
Also, when I took the first sip of water, I found a small piece of blue sponge inside the glass — definitely not acceptable for a restaurant of this level.
The food itself was tasty, but the overall service and operation were disorganized and slow. Hope they can improve, because the flavors deserve much better service.

The restaurant altered the tip amount without authorization. No service at all. Don’t come to this restaurant….

We had a reservation at 7:30 and arrived at 7:28, only to be told our table wasn’t ready and that we should wait another 10 minutes. That would have been fine, but we ended up waiting an additional 30 minutes before finally being seated. At that point, we really wondered what the point of making a reservation was if we still had to wait so long. The whole experience felt frustrating and poorly managed. A reservation should mean that the restaurant is prepared to seat you at or very close to the reserved time, not make you wait nearly half an hour longer.
