Island Vintage Shave Ice

My favourite shave Ice in Waikiki. I love the fresh fruit shave ice and the option to do frozen yogurt instead of ice cream underneath. The popping boba are delicious. Huge portion for 10$. Enough to share between 2-3 people. Located right in front of Royal Hawaiian where you can find a bench and enjoy. Love!

Honestly, it wasn't that good.
I had shaved ice at three places and it was the worst, and Matsumoto's was half the price and much more delicious.

My mom and dad kept talking about this shaved ice place and I was like, why is this place even that good?

They finally had the opportunity to take me yesterday and it was so incredibly delicious. We ordered the Hawaiian Rainbow one and I could eat that whole thing by myself. They use actual puréed fruit over the shaved ice and not just sugar juice! Love the large pieces of mochi and ice cream on the bottom! 10/10 would recommend.

Flavor not strong and the syrup does not penetrate very far. Not really the fluffy shave ice I iave had elsewhere on the island.

The wait can be long but the shaved ice was so flavorful and it was worth it! Plus the area is really nice and pretty to wait at. I got the blue coconut, strawberry and subbed the mango out for passion fruit. It was so good!

We’ve been on a mission to find the best shaved ice around the island and unfortunately this did not make it high on our list. Here’s where it worked and where it didn’t.

The good
- passion fruit was very tasty (love the crunch of the seeds)
- popping boba was refreshing
- the mochi was soft and chewy
- the staff was kind
- very pricey for a giant bowl of ice and cup of ice

The bad
- the syrup barely got through the outer layer making the inner layer pure ice with no flavor
- could not taste the mango flavor at all
- had boba tea which was pure sugar, 90% ice and the boba was actually hard and couldn’t even chew (under cooked or too much ice that made them hard instantly) so we had to throw away the entire beverage after the first two attempts to drink and chew

The shaved ice 🍧 was incredible! We had the Rainbow.

It looked pretty and the combination of soft ice and syrup was good. I want to eat it again👍
There is almost no line if you go during the day, so I recommend eating during the day.

Best shave ice! We had it twice a day during our 10 day trip. Much better than other popular spots in North Shore.

Why eat ice shaved ice at Sulbing? Why wait in line to eat it? I wondered if everyone didn't know the taste. Still, I tried it out of curiosity and realized that I don't know the taste of this region...
First, the ice is ground so very finely that it melts right in your mouth without any chewy particles. There is milk ice cream inside the ice and shaved ice rice cakes around it, so it couldn't be more delicious.
However, the size is disappointing. The price is similar to Sulbing... All American food has a lot of portions, so why is this...?

There are many shaved ice stands in Waikiki and tbh they are all great, byt this stand offers popping boba, mochi and their flavors are not too sweet! Will come back and try again!!!
