Exceptional meal with 16 plates of chefs menu. Flavor was perfect and I eat a lot of sushi! All kinds of fish with subtle adds to enhance the flavor. Warm rice and transition of labors so the mild was not over powered by the strong. Worth the trip but not an every week event for sure 🙂
The food here is just so amazing. Everyone was closing their eyes just savoring each bite. The flavor combinations are top notch. We always leave full, the service is excellent, they keep the dishes coming in the perfect pace - we will definitely be back.
Sasabune was recommended to us multiple times for my other half's birthday dinner, and we are so glad we listened. From the food, to the service, to the ambience; we were very pleased with everything from start to finish. We will be returning to enjoy another omakase!
I have been coming to Sasabune for about 18 years. Recently got married in Hawaii and took my husband here to show him the best Omakase experience and fish he will ever have! He loved it! As always, Sasabune is outstanding and worth a trip just to O'ahu to experience. The owner, chefs, and wait staff are always top notch! We will be back again ☺️❤️ Mahalo!
Food, service, expensive were all amazing. Its a huge amount of food and it's all spectacular. Was about 185 dollars. I gave 4 stars for value but that may be pretty standard for that level of quality omakase. Went 10 years ago as well and it's just as good as i remember
Chef creates a unique menu for each customer and stops serving you once you're full (or keeps going if you want more!) Just don't go in expecting to order off of a menu- trust in the process! Everything we had was exceptional. Truly a once in a lifetime custom meal experience. 10/10!
I was really disappointed with my experience at Kan Sushi in Oahu. When we arrived, the hostess seated our group of three (including a child) at a table with only two chairs, and handed us just two menus. The high chair we were given was broken, which was concerning. When we mentioned these issues, the hostess rolled her eyes, reluctantly fixed the situation, and walked away without another word. This kind of treatment from a server felt unprofessional and unacceptable, especially at a Japanese restaurant where customer service is usually a point of pride.
The food also left much to be desired. The miso soup was overly salty compared to a traditional preparation, and the sushi took longer than expected to arrive, even though the restaurant wasn’t particularly busy.
Overall, the combination of poor service and inconsistent food quality made for a disappointing visit. I hope the management addresses these issues because the restaurant has potential, but as it stands, I would not recommend it.

Really like the all you can eat. Choose the sushi you would like to try and they bring 2 pieces of each. Better than buying a roll 6-8 pieces. Tried the Korean fried rice and cheese corn, will pass next time. Server was great!

The experience is one of a kind: unforgettable, wonderful. The dishes are delicious. The staff is dedicated in making me feel special. The food preparation is creative. The experience invites me to go back for another special occasion. I am very pleased.
Definitely a special occasion experience. Food and service were outstanding. Innovative flavors and love the use of local fish.

Sushi Sasabune is a must do! I have been lucky enough to have found Sushi Sasabune around 20 years ago. After traveling all over the world this is the best Sushi I've had. The Chef's Omakase selections will ruin you for any other place. The Staff is amazing. Go as soon as you can..
Amazing experience...always book a night with the professional and traditional team of Sushi Sasabune. The best in Honolulu
Fantastic service and fantastic food! We came back to this restaurant 15-20 years after visiting initially and the quality of the food is just as good if not better. Can't wait to come back again, and we definitely won't wait as long to visit!
Sushi sasabune has been a dream spot for me for a few years now. Their spotlight video on the YouTube channel Eater looked incredible. Suffice to say the video didn't overhype them. The sushi was as good as it looked. The menu during my visit was unique and adventurous with the non traditional sushi items being highlights. The lobster tail bake was perfect, the oyster shooter and oyster bake were the first ever oysters I've enjoyed, and I've tried to like oysters on multiple occasions. Their signature nigiri with papaya on top with chilli was unreal. The staff were so welcoming and so kind. Then head chef and I had friendly, light conversation. Honestly I feel awkward because I don't dine out to this caliber often, but they did a wonderful job of making me feel comfortable. 5/5 stars for this place, worth every penny.
Returning again to an omakase that still surprises us with new items among rediscovering old flavors. Delicate and delicious as always.
