We had a lovely dinner choosing vegetarian food that was so delicious. The service was excellent and we enjoyed the wine as well. It was a delightful evening!

My mother and I came here two days before my birthday off a recommendation. Ethan, our server was exceptional and we mentioned that we might come back for my birthday. Two days later we came back and he brought out the works for us. He is the man. 10/10 would recommend. Some of the best service we’ve ever had

Happy hour dishes and wine were excellent, with attentive service. Prepared to park outside of parking lot on Friday night - very busy

The kitchen can't really handle brunch - 45 min to get food, Loco Moco was good, breakfast sandwich was really lame - small, no garnish or side on the plate. Servers were helpful and apologetic.

Wow! The hype about this place is real from the excellent service to delicious food! The chef even came out to thank us for coming in. Our table of 6 ordered delicious honey buttered cornbread, tender char siu flavored tako leg, po'o beet salad ring, naan bread with tiki masala, salmon dip with toast- of course they all had cool names on the menu!!! I had the special rib eye peppercorn steak - so tender with a great sauce that I was concerned would be too heavy on the pepper but it was perfectly seasoned! Others had the where's the beef pasta?, seafood risotto, and pork chop. We tasted each others foods and all agreed that each one was fantastic! Such a great place to eat but car pool cuz parking is limited.

We came for lunch during a dreary rainy day. It was a perfect shelter - warm and friendly service, delicious food, and a relaxed ambiance. Lunch portions are generous, you can easily share dishes unless you're a big eater. I recommend making reservations. There is a small parking lot fronting the restaurant which shares the location with the Olive Tree Cafe, or a short walking distance from Kahala Mall.

Beautifully prepared and delicious dishes showcasing island cuisine, local vegetables and meats from Hawai`i farms, and seafood from our surrounding ocean. Chef-owner Keaka Lee was born and raised in Honolulu and trained at the Culinary Institute of the Pacific KCC and also in top NYC restaurants. He is always present and comes out to greet every table once or twice during the meal. We have tried many of the appetizers, entrées, and desserts and love it all. I especially enjoy the Haku Lei Po`o salad as a complement to the seafood, meat, pasta, or vegetarian dishes. We ate family-style last night and enjoyed it as much as our previous dinner when we ordered individually. There is weekend brunch, an amazing lunch menu (I love the arancini appetizer on the lunch menu and special order for a dinner party), and a happy hour menu with a range of small dishes. Very happy to have Kapa Hale in the neighborhood.

Kapa Hale truly captures the spirit of the holidays with Chef Keaka Lee’s thoughtfully curated holiday tasting menu. This is an experience that was both comforting and elevated from start to finish.

The evening began with a trio of appetizers that set the tone beautifully: a refreshing gazpacho, perfectly crisp arancini, and a rich, flavorful croquette. Each bite showcasing balance and finesse. The Haku Lei Po‘o, overflowing with fresh island-grown produce, was as vibrant and beautiful as it was delicious, a true celebration of Hawai‘i on a plate.

For entrées, the KH Beef Lū‘au was the standout: tender braised beef paired with bright lomi lomi tomato and fluffy couscous, delivering deep, soulful flavors with a modern touch. We also couldn’t resist “You Chick’N Me Out,” a roasted chicken inspired by classic huli huli preparation. It was juicy, aromatic, and incredibly satisfying.

Dessert was the perfect finale. The holiday special Foster pot de crème was luxuriously smooth and indulgent, while the gingerbread crème brûlée brought warm spice and festive flair with a perfectly crackled top.

Chef Keaka Lee and the Kapa Hale team have created a holiday menu that feels both nostalgic and innovative. From start to finish, it’s a dining experience filled with heart, intention, and exceptional flavor. I am already looking forward to my next visit. ✨

Always have the corny bread and tried the eggplant and where's da beef pasta. The eggplant tempura batter is so light! Little hiccup on the pasta but plan to come back.

Went back for dinner again after restaurant week. We tried the laksa risotto and the fish special. The lemongrass broth for the fish was excellent We live in Kakaako where we can walk to great places to eat, but the food here is worth the drive. Strongly recommend

A delicious restaurant week menu. The food is always great so we knew it would be a great experience!

Friendly staff. We were first seated next to a boisterous group there for a birthday and asked to be moved. They did so though the vibe I got was a little off putting. I don't think a lot of people ask their tables to be switched, but I could feel a migraine coming on. If they hadn't accommodated us, I probably would have just left. Food was good. I don't know if it's a thing with some of the more hipster restaurants here where they do too much sometimes with the flavors. It was restaurant week so we got to choose an entree and dessert. Appetizers were all the same, corn bread with honey butter, a pumpkin spice muffin with lilikoi butter, and a cranberry scone. The scone and corn bread were yummy. The lilikoi though did nothing for the pumpkin muffin and I ended up scraping it off as the two flavors did not mix well. My entree was the kfc with waffles. Waffle was good with the chicken, but there seemed to be some kind of glaze/butter(?) in the middle and that just overpowered all the flavors. I still don't know what that flavor is. My dad had the breakfast burger. Meat was good he said though he didn't feel like the teriyaki sauce brought anything to the table since the egg and cheese overpowered the flavoring. He said the chips were also bland. All in all not a bad experience. Don't know if I would ever come back though. I encourage others to at least try it.
