Wow!! We got recommended to go to Kats Sushi by 2 locals while on our trip to Oahu when we asked for sushi recommendations so had to try and were not disappointed! We got an assortment of their hand rolls and also nigiri and it was hands down the best sushi we’ve ever had as well as the best meal we’ve had on the island! Such a wonderful restaurant filled with kind, hardworking people who take such pride and joy in sharing their delicious craft of sushi with others. A must try, cannot recommend enough!

Lets start with the dishes: the nigiri and the temaki (hand rolls) tastes great. The fish is fresh and the rice is flavorful and cook properly. The hamachi nigiri was my favorite. Although there isn't a super big variety of dishes like those tourist oriented restaurants in Waikiki, every single dish they serve has its proper attention which translates in a amazing and delicious sushi.
The service was great and friendly. Every time we went, they will recieve us with a big smile and explain us how their service works. They are very attentive when we requested something like hot tea or for recommendations. Even, after paying and staying for some more minutes to talk, they will ask us of we wanted more tea.
Overall, I was greatly satisfied with the food and service and would 100% recommend this jewel of a restaurant to anyone visiting or living in Oahu and looking for tasty food!

We come here pretty regularly, but today’s service and staff were especially great! The staff was incredibly friendly, nice, and attentive. Food came out at a good pace and tasted amazing as always. We sat at the bar and were even able to watch the chef at work. 100% would come again!

I have been coming to this place for 10+ years. They are friendly and the food has been consistent each time. This is not a fancy sushi place. They have set items that they serve and standard canned drinks. They do not serve alcohol but it is BYOB. There is a paid lot in the back of the restaurant up the ramp but it closes at 10pm. Otherwise street parking is available on King St.

Kats Sushi is delicious and the quality is absolutely fantastic! This review from me is coming many months after my girlfriend and I last ate here on our last trip to Oahu (in May 2024) but we still talk about this place a ton and are excited to come back on our next trip. Everything we had was fantastic and a great value-- I remember the unagi especially being a stand out. Honestly some of the best sushi I've had anywhere (especially for an ayce spot). Street parking was also easy enough and the staff at the restaurant were incredibly friendly and accommodating. We absolutely love this place and are excited to come back again soon!

A very small gem, all you can eat japanese restaurant. The seaweed was crunchy and the rice was just the right amount. This place has been there for 55 years. Seating outside is also an option. Must try the Hawaiian and plum roll . One more time going before leaving the island, is a must. $33 per person and might want to make a reservation.

Great sushi begins and ends with the quality of rice and the seafood it pairs with. If either the rice or fish is not good... You have bad sushi. That is what Kats served up on our visit. The rice was hard/chewy/gummy. Worse than buying sushi in the grocery store that's been pre-made and sitting in the cooler. Won't be supporting Kats anymore as AYCE with poor quality is the deal breaker.

Super chill ayce sushi spot for a good price (29.95). They don’t do rolls, only nigiri and hand rolls. But the sushi is delicious, the best ayce sushi I’ve ever had! I highly recommend the spicy unagi, Hawaiian (ahi with mayo and shiso leaf), and salmon skin handrolls!
