When I arrived at Kayak Cafe, there were only two other people in the restaurant. The staff told my partner and me to grab a menu and find a seat, which I thought was a little odd. After we sat down, our waitress came by and asked if we were ready to order, but in the middle of me telling her, she suddenly stopped and said she needed to grab her table. It was strange because she asked if we were ready, but clearly she wasn’t ready for us.
I ordered the Kayak Morning Plate, and my partner ordered the Ham Benedict. The waitress couldn’t hear my partner’s order and made her repeat it a few times before finally pointing to the menu to clarify.
My partner’s plate looked fabulous, but unfortunately, my breakfast was very disappointing. The fried rice was dry and overpowered by the strong taste of bell pepper. I asked for over-medium eggs but was served scrambled instead. If it weren’t for the sausage, my plate would have been a complete disaster
To make things worse, there were ants crawling all over our table, which made the dining experience even more uncomfortable.

A group of 8 of us had an amazing experience at Kayak Cafe which is located on the corner of Ala Moana Blvd and Ena Road. The service was exemplary and the food was delicious.
Our server, Roxanna, was very attentive, very personable, and took excellent care of us. We couldn't have been more pleased with the service.
The food was cooked perfectly to order, arriving hot to the table, the salads were fresh and crisp, the portions were generous, and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their choices. We were there between the time that brunch is usually served and the lunch hours, so we were given the choice to order from either menu. Some of us opted for lunch and some for breakfast and everything was perfect.
The restaurant is beautifully decorated and very clean and they offer outdoor seating as well as indoor seating.
They have really good coffee, espresso, cappuccino and other specialty drinks. I had the cappuccino, which was excellent, and when two of us ordered regular coffee, they brewed us a fresh pot! The also have excellent fresh brewed ice tea.
If anyone is gluten intolerant as I am, they have delicious gluten free pizza on the menu as well as other gluten free choices.
The management has recently hired new staff and they obviously have gotten excellent training.
We will definitely come back again and highly recommend that you give them a try! If you have been there before, you will be amazed at how much better it is now.

Ordered pizza with extra cheese and it came with barely any cheese on it at all. The waitress Roxanna had to go and ask if it had extra cheese. No common sense from the waitress and the cook lied and said they put extra cheese on it. Pathetic if barely cheese is extra cheese. We ordered Alfredo to go and the waitress brought it with no bag and no utensils. I thought it would be a fun experience because it was close to our hotel but it was a HUGE regret. Will never go back.

We ate here for breakfast and dinner and the food was delicious.
Cute place to eat, we got breakfast here and it was 50$ for both of us. I got the eggs Benedict which was good but the bacon was fatty and hard to eat . My husband got the eggs and bacon platter which he said was good . The service was okay, at times it was hard to get someone over but they were nice and friendly. It had out door eating as well as indoor.

Not sure why the reviews are so low- we had a great time. Food was good, and service was friendly (not extremely prompt but nothing atypical of a tourist town) and location was great. Prices were reasonable for the area and quality of food. Try the sweetened green tea- it was great!

My order was wrong service was mediocre the coffee 👎🏼 had to ask for water the best part about the place was John the greeter he was awesome two waiters for the whole place ridiculous
The menu items and prices from the sidewalk looked reasonable. We decided to give Kayak Cafe a try. They weren’t busy weekday at 8am. We ordered the French toast with berries and the morning scramble with Portuguese sausage. Breakfast arrived promptly and service was perfect. Wish we were here longer to try lunch and dinner. It was great before our long flight Down Under. Thanks guys!

Server: Victor. I tried the veggie omlet, not a fan of eggs so I asked for my scramble to be cooked very well done, w/ microgreens & cheese. They were out of microgreens and forgot the cheese- overall, good- quick service and clean environment.

We LOVE this place. The food is great! We like the Kayak Morning Plate and the Massive BreKfast Burrito......mmmmmm, so good.
The service is very friendly and courteous. Just a short walk (1-2 blocks) from Hilton Hawaiian Village.
Nice outside patio, across from park.
