I have always loved this place since I was a child. Ajima always took care of us & the Kal bi ribs are always spot on. Many memories of coming here with my Dad. I used to hangout with Jimmy in my 20's. RIP 🙏. Plenty of parking in the back. It's a staple of Kaimuki.

Been coming to this place for over 30 years and it still lives up to what I remember. The food is a great, the people are so attentive and kind, and the value is right on. Of the restaurants from my youth that I loved, this is one of the few that continue their legacy. The menu and food quality haven’t changed, this place is a total gem!!! My favorites are the big bone kalbi and their meat jun. I think there could be less cardboard boxes around, but definitely recommend!!

Kimchi 2 Restaurant on waialae avenue. Located near the old Big City diner.
This is the old sound Korean restaurant where they give you lots of vegetables in little dishes and dipping sauce the food is delicious. And the prices are reasonable. Two people can eat for under $40
We went on a Sunday for lunch it was kind of crowded but there was no lines to get in.
This restaurant is an old style Korean restaurant very charming and you will love eating here.

Morning if you're sensitive to MSG be careful
After eating here I had trouble staying awake and I'm very sensitive to MSG and MSG gives me a headache and knocks me out driving from kaimuki to Mililani I had to pull over at moanalua gardens rest because I was so drowsy I was not driving straight that's bad.
Once I got home I knocked out for 4 hours. What the heck do they put in those sauces. I will not be eating or recommending this place because of MSG poisoning

I have been going to this place since high school and it is still my favorite restaurant! I live in North Las Vegas now but Kim Chee 2 is always on my list of places to go at least twice every trip. Love the meat jun and bbq chicken combo plate.
Back when we lived in Hawaii we were there so often that staff knew our order without even questioning. We were seated but no menu given: just the food would start coming out! Jimmy (rest in love) would always have a big smile for us whenever we came in.

We came to the place because it was the only one that was open after 2 in the afternoon, in the area, on a Saturday. The entrance from behind is not pleasant at all. It has all the garbage there. We still entered and the inside is comfortable and the main entrance, although we did not see it, seemed to be much more acceptable. The food is incredible, the flavors are great, it's a shame that they only have one vegan or vegetarian option on the entire menu. We had tea that was delicious and the service of the place deserves more than 5 stars, the guys are super friendly and attentive to everything we needed. Definitely delicious!
Vegetarian options: There is only one vegetarian dish on the menu and I'm not sure if it's 100% vegan.
Parking: Plenty of parking at the back of the plaza.

I ordered Cold Noodles (Cold Kook Soo$14.90) thinking it was kudzu cold noodles, but instead I was served noodles with vegetables and ice in an almost tasteless soup! After taking a bite, I regretted ordering the wrong dish, but the BBQ beef on a separate plate was so delicious that I was able to eat it after adding the beef and BBQ sauce.
My friend ordered the lunch special (a set of BBQ chicken, meat bun, and mandu for $14.90), which was delicious and seemed like a great choice. Next time I would like to order special or bibimbap from the beginning!
