Wonderful OG local Korean restaurant. The BBQ meats are cooked beautifully so that it’s still tender with pleasing smoky flavor. The BBQ sauce is the perfect blend of sweetness, soy, garlic and a hint of chili. Nothing out of balance. Staff are super nice and friendly. Atmosphere is relaxed and chill. My favs are bbq chicken, kalbi, mundoo, and meat jun.Parking: Lot in back is paid but large so you have a decent chance of snagging a space.

Just one of those spots that have been around forever, and it’s easy to see why. Free soup before you order, good banchan (except the won bok kimchee, it’s kinda watery), and gargantuan portion sizes for the price. On top of that, all of the entrees that I’ve tried tasted great. All of the people who say that you can’t find good Korean food on Oahu clearly haven’t been here.

Some dishes were decent but others were void of flavor and the jun meat and shrimp was just in greasy batter. The short rib was tough and chewy.

This is one of the few remaining single family owned restaurants in Honolulu. Their big bone Kal bi is simply the best ?!

I've been eating here since I was a small kid. The food always reminds me of family gatherings at my grandmas house. We would always order takeout whenever family was in town. I have too many favorites to choose from. They've been in Kaimuki for years now and would recommend going if in the area.

This is a great dinner spot! Don't let the outside fool you! The Kim chee is delicious and is given before your meal with some seaweed soup. We always get the kimchee jige, chicken Katsu and meat Jun.

Local korean food stop before leaving back to the mainland. It hit the spot. Best Meat chun, kalbi. Everything as i remember local Korean food to be. Living on the mainland, good local food is hard to fine..especially Korean. So this was the best.

First time here, I can't believe I didn't try this restaurant in Kaimuki. Wanted to eat some Korean food. The food is excellent, customer service too. I order a lot of different dishes to try, the bill came out around $68- for two people. Talking to the owner Nick, they been open since 1977. They have two more restaurants...Kim Chee l & 7. The food is not the same as ll... I would say this is the best Korean restaurant on the East side of Honolulu. Located in Kaimuki. Some parking on Waialae if you're lucky. More parking in the back. They have a side door in the back parking. Not sure why they only had 3.8 Stars on YELP...should be 5 Stars. If you're in the Kaimuki area, Please give this place a try, you'll be surprised. Aloha, Derek

Everyone knows of a restaurant that has been around forever and have been there years ago. Kim Chee II has been a staple in Honolulu for as long as I can remember having several locations. Through the years, other locations closed but Kim Chee II has stayed strong and still at the original location. You could say that I fell in love with this place all over again! With all of the crazy prices at many other restaurants and added fees like kitchen charges, credit card fees etc. Kim Chee still has very reasonable prices for just simple good tasting and generous korean food. The staff is alway so friendly every time we visit. They even have complimentary coffee for diners.
