The restaurant policy was deeply concerning. Offering a 10 percent discount exclusively to locals while simultaneously charging a 3 percent fee to anyone using a credit card is unreasonable. Most travelers rely on credit cards for safety and convenience, and penalizing guests for standard payment methods while favoring locals creates an unfair and unwelcoming experience.

Off the shoreline. Long stairs down to basement level. Chinese food is over priced. Seafood is ok-fresh as the price. Portion is a little small than usual Chinese food, and not that many options to choice ( a little more than the cafe).

Hounded me for a tip like 6 times even before my wife and I got our food. Never have I ever experience that rude behavior before at a restaurant. Tips are earned based on service not just given to you. Only checked on us once when we were done. Food presentation was good but the taste was just ok, not worth the price tbh. No refills on the mango tea which is cheap to make so makes no sense but was good. There was a bird flying around the dining room. The staff didn’t seem bothered by it. Probably wouldn’t recommend eating here at least with our experience.

This is by far the worst restaurant I had been to during my stay at Waikiki. The food tastes horrible. I had spend around $250 for the meal which the portions are so small that the entire meal can’t feed one person. I won’t recommend anyone to go there because it not worth it and to say the food taste awful too.

We were here to try dimsum, which is decent. However, the place is very dated, and the dishes are on the pricey side.

We celebrated a birthday coming here. Make sure to make reservations because it gets busy. We tried their Taishan Live Crab ans it was totally worth it. After our dinner they even gave us complimenary dessert for our celebrant.

Food high quality. Walnut honey glazed shrimp was delicious. Lettuce wrap was expensive and small portion. Egg plant and pork Yu Xiang sauce was delicious.

This might have been a bad night for the restaurant but we felt the food here left a lot to be desired. The dim sum was obviously frozen and reheated, especially the siu mai. Tea smoked duck had a strong gamey taste and was almost inedible. The other dishes were very average. Service was poor even for a Chinese restaurant; main courses came before appetizers and steamed rice never came. For what you get, Kirin is pricey. our party of 5 ran up a bill of over $219 for a very mediocre meal.
