Gilbert, the owner, served us many times and we were there almost daily. He is a great ambassador for Hawaii. The Dole Whip is fantastic and a must try when in Waikiki. He suggested the red Aleae salt which is a nice local enhancement. He always welcomed us with the spirit of ohana. We were visiting from The Netherlands and Arizona and this was one of our highlights from the week.
I feel like the only reason this place is popular is to get the nice pics. Which i did get however. The shaka was overcooked, and the chocolate soft served tasted almost like rotten milk. I recommend the place directly next to it, cheaper and the ice cream is way more flavorful. I only recommend this if youre tryna post on Instagram or something.
