Pretty good place. Definitely convenient if you're at the paradise pool or staying in the lagoon tower. The prices however are more than some of the surrounding restaurants for the same items. Good food though!

I think the food is a bit overpriced, but one comes to expect such things at a resort. The drinks, on the other hand, are mixed pretty strong, so I take no issue there.
Service was prompt and the staff so nice and helpful.

I used Hilton Gold Credit at Paradise Pool, but the price was too expensive. I used the full bar a lot at Hilton Waikoloa, but it was more expensive than there and the quality was lower. I ordered chilli cheese dog and LG dog, and it felt like the quality was about USD 8-10.

Conference organizing staff should be more hospitable, not condescending, to the conference organizers. Elevator at the TAPA Tower was extremely slow and sometimes, it took 15 minutes to wait for the elevator and standing in the elevator stopping every floor with a full elevator unit.
If you want to stay down waikiki this is a great option. Right at the bottom of the area, you feel a little removed which is nice. Only a short walk and you hit the main "strip", but in the hilton you feel that peaceful hawaiin vibe. The rooms are very clean and spacious, the facilities are great. Especially the gym which has a good amount of equipment. The beach even has green sea turtles who sometimes visit ! That was amazing to see as a trip to see them may run you $300. There's lots of food options here and also an ABC which has lots of affordable grab and go food if you don't want to constantly break the bank. My only issue is the resort fee. You will be charged $50 PER DAY, so please take this into account when you book at this price is NOT included and you can get a nasty surprise on check out. I personally think this should be incoperated in the price as many of the things listed in what you get for the resort fee would be free in good hotels anyway. Other than this it is still a great value hotel for the area with lots in reach
This was an excellent place to stay. Very comfy bed and pillows. Room wasnt huge but adequate. Convenient location and was very reasonably priced. Bag breakfast was good but you need to go back to your room to heat the sandwich in your microwave so we passed on the breakfast sandwich as we'd already locked our door. Also included an orange, breakfast pastry and small bottle of water. The gal who checked us in Saturday evening acted like she didn't want to be bothered. Never made eye contact and just really didn't make me feel welcome.
Lagoon was crying clear and perfect for swimming, snorkeling & paddle boarding. This is a great place if you don’t like to get in the main ocean because of sharks and other things. I don’t like to swim in the open ocean so this is perfect because no sharks. The water is calm and crystal clear. It looks just like you are in a swimming pool. It’s so cool! It’s also perfect is you have small children. This is right next to the Hilton. The Hilton is an awesome resort because it is on 22 acres with tons of shops, amazing restaurants, ice cream shops and hotel towers, serval pools and is all owned by the Hilton. It also has an adult only pool and spa. You never need to leave the resort because it is so huge, entertaining, has the lagoon and absolutely beautiful! So much yo see and do it’s hard to see and do everything at the resort. The price is so great I almost couldn’t believe it. The only thing I didn’t like was sometimes I don’t want housekeeping in my hotel room and like to put the do not disturb sign on the door sometimes. It depends on if I’m in a hurry getting ready and if I have time to put my stuff back in my suitcase. We didn’t get house keeping one day because I left all my stuff out abs didn’t want anything in the room with all my personal stuff laying around. Apparently Hilton has s rule if you don’t get housekeeping the will need to stop in and see your room sometimes during the 24 hours or they will enter your hotel room without your consent to inspect to check if everyone is okay and the hotel room is in good condition. They put a card on our door and also left a message about the rules in Honolulu Hilton. I thought it was off and stopped at the front desk and they confirmed this is the Hilton Honolulu rule. It just was a little strange because I’ve no ever heard of a hotel thst does that and kind of takes away from your privacy a little bit.
Terrible for families with young children travelling from abroad. All sun loungers and umbrellas cost £100 per day, unmoterised watersports range from £45 upwards. The tiny supply of loungers by the pools taken from first thing and again which is enough for less than 5% of the hotel guests. no shade available. Absolutely nothing is included is included in your stay and the extra tax added to the rooms is for what?! Unlike some of the other hotels you have to pay for everything including shade in this hotel. You get ripped off and taken advantage of at every turn. Ypu have to be super organjsed in booking restaurants months in advance or wait 1.5 hpurs for walk ins. Prices for food os 30% more than most other places in states or worlwide really. Will not return to hawaii waikiki.
Booked a stay for 6 days. If you are looking for a quiet and relaxing experience, this is not the place. The hotel is crowded, checking may take 45 minutes to an hour. As a Diamond member, I was the second in the precheck line, this start at 12:15 PM. Once pre checked my luggage was in the storage and I was free to do whatever I want until they call me when the room was available. Waikiki is full of restaurants within walking distance for every budget. During my stay I have found 2 negative points. In my last day, my door was knocked at 8 AM, housekeeping was asking me at what time I was leaving.... We returned to the hotel very late the night before and I requested a late checkout that was conceded for 1 PM (my flight leave at 10 PM). Once checked out, I store my luggage in a Departure Luggage Storage which was very convenient in my case, I was able to go to the Bishop Museum and had lunch at Helena's (recommended). However the area around the store smell like a trash bin with rotten food, this is unacceptable for a Hilton. Return? Maybe.

We arrived at around 5:00 PM on a Monday and had no wait to check in. We stayed on the 34th floor of the Tapa Tower in an ocean view room, but to see the ocean we had to stand at the balcony door or go out onto the balcony. We could not see the ocean if sitting at the table on our balcony because the balcony wall blocked the view. We were told our tower was built in the 1980s but we were in a room on a renovated floor. Not all of the floors in the tower have been renovated. The room was spacious and comfortable. The bathroom is a bit dated. The bulk shampoo and soap dispensers have been removed but the brackets for them are still on the wall. One morning the water in the shower came out only as a trickle so I called and reported it. I checked a few minutes later and it worked fine so I cancelled the maintenance request. The door connecting to the next room next door rattled in the wind when our neighbour had their balcony door open. Otherwise the room was nice and quiet. We never had to wait more than a minute or so for an elevator. We visited the bar at the Tapa pool, the Tropics bar, and the HauTree bar and found all the staff friendly and helpful. The food at the Tropics bar was quite good and our server Paula Y. was particularly pleasant. The dinner we had at the Bali restaurant was fantastic. Each morning at 6 AM I would get coffee at the Starbuck’s near our tower and never had a long wait. The ABC store in our tower has a good selection of ready-made meals and snacks and a great wine, beer, and liquor selection. The Round Table pizza place is a bit spartan but the King Arthur pizza is great and the staff are very nice. In fact all the staff members we encountered at the village were friendly and pleasant to deal with. It was quite busy and bustling and the pools were well-attended. We will check out other nearby hotels for our next visit but will probably stay here again, but will make sure we have an oceanfront room versus an ocean view room. With the room rate, room tax, $50/day resort fee, and other miscellaneous taxes we ended up paying $575/night.
I'm torn with how to review this hotel. On the one hand, it is fantastic, on the other, I won't return. I guess it depends on what you are looking for. I can't fault the hotel for cleanliness, location and amenities, however, it is so big now (I previously visited around 15 years ago and loved it) that it feels like you're in the middle of a busy city or on a packed cruise ship. We stayed in the Alli tower to avoid the long check in lines and for the private pool. We still had to queue to check in because there were only 2 people on the desk and because check in can take a while. Also, the pool can get super busy and noisy and you are not guaranteed a sun lounger. I'm sure the hotel is amazing for people with little kids who want to make use of the pools and take part in the many activities on offer, however, as a family of three (two adults and a teenager), this wasn't what we were looking for. I attended the 6.30am yoga class a couple of times but beyond that, we made our own plans. We were unaware that there was a daily charge for the activities on offer, $50 per room, per night. We stayed 8 nights. It was an expensive yoga class. We mainly ate outside of the hotel, the shops and restaurants only being a 10 minute walk away. That said, there are many restaurants on site and we did grab a couple of takeouts. The restaurants looked very busy and there was a long wait when ordering food to take away. It was quite stressful. We did buy breakfast onsite most days. The Açai bowls were great. We also got coffee from the Starbucks next to the Alli tower, but from around 6am and for the rest of the morning, the line was around 30 minutes long. This all sounds quite negative and I am scoring the hotel 4 stars, which is a contradiction I know. Like I said, it depends what you are looking for. It is a beautiful hotel, the location is great and there is plenty on offer. Just expect that it will be super busy during the summer months. If peace and quiet is what you're after, this is not the place for you.
Very disappointed… had been here 14 years prior to my last visit, only to find additional buildings have been added to the property and found it to be crammed, limited space, and way too many people. Management has not put money into building upkeep. Mold in showers, peeling paint all over the property, safety locks falling off the door and much more. A 2 night stay for a family of 5 was over 2k and I felt like I was at a motel 6. Staff was wonderful when called upon. The only reason the account got 2 stars instead of 1. As a Hilton diamond member this hotel has come off my list and I will never visit again.
It is closed and not open.
Stayed in the Tapa Tower the room was quite large with a decent sized TV albeit nothing to watch on it as only a few channels and no programs shown on the guide page !. Cleaned every day though and (for we brits) a tea/coffee machine in the room so we bought Liptons black tea at the on-site ABC Store and bottled water then had a decent cuppa on demand, bliss !. Queen sized bed and a tiny balcony with two chairs and table, if you leaned out you could see the sea. For a beach holiday this is deffo the place to come to especially with kids. Ensure you get breakfast included otherwise it’s going to be expensive to eat although there are literally hundreds of ABC Stores offering everything from a salad to beach wear at reasonable prices. This area is coated in shopping malls, hardly anything but shops and high rise condo’s. We bought tickets to go to Pearl Harbour to see the grave site of the Arizona and then onboard the USS Missouri for a good hunt about. As an ex-sailer (RN) I found it a bit heavy going, to be fair I was glad to come away, the memories of being closed up below deck came back with a vengeance. We also did 2 + hours sales pitch on buying into the Hilton version of timeshare, very interesting, this gave us a discounted ticket for a Hula Night, yet to be sampled !. It’s not all sunshine and sand though, we had a tropical storm come through last night !. I would recommend this location and I highly recommend the Hawaiian people, they are really welcoming. All the time we were here I didn’t see a cow so I don’t know where the milk comes from. The local news is all about traffic jams, seems they swapped the massive sugar plantations for housing but forgot to upgrade the roads, 30 miles of chaos to get into the city every morning / evening. They were putting in an aerial rail system but it seems the money allocated has been swallowed up, classic happening the world over, spend millions and get nothing but fat, happy contractors, no monorail, no nothing just a couple of million cars driven by a million locals, go figure ! Back to the resort. Food is good, staff very helpful but keen to clip you for every dollar they can, arrive early and you get charged for your early arrival !. It’s a significant holiday for us, mentioned this to the young lady processing our arrival and she tried to sell up a $200 a night upgrade ! No thanks. Finally don’t forget you have to pay resort ‘taxes’ for each night you stay so check the cost out before signing up
