I dream about this place and hope to get to go back one day.
Get Malasadas fresh off the fryer - it's how it should be enjoyed and it's delicious! Be chill and it's worth the short wait.

We were driving around the island exploring and stopped at this Leonard’s location. We got one of each malasada. They were hot, fresh, and delicious!!! We got there just in time before the crowd rolled in behind us. Parking in this shopping center is tight, but well worth the visit.

I notice the Malasadas has changed over the years for sure, but whatever the case I like it better the way it was when I was younger because it was lighter fluffier and tastier.
Today it’s denser and heavier. If that’s how you or anyone else likes it that’s fine. I’d rather have it the way the original owner made it! Light and fluffier!

After a long, sweaty hike, there's only one thing that can truly restore my energy, hot, fresh malasadas from Leonard's. But my excitement quickly faded when I remembered that Leonard's was out of the way for us - super sad face . As we drove on my husband caught a glimpse of the Leonards malasada truck in the Koko Marina Center parking lot. Omg! We speed over to it, only to find a long line. But in a rare twist of fate, this was actually a win, the line was long enough to keep them open past closing time (score!).
I've never had malasadas from this truck before, and I have to say they might actually be better than the Kapahulu location (they seem more fresh). They even have picnic tables to the side to enjoy them right out of the fryer before you head in your way.
The guys running the show were so friendly and awesome despite their closing time of 6pm, they kept serving up batch after batch to take care of everyone, sadly we saw them turning people away at around 6:30 pm but gotta applaud their efforts!
And the malasadas? Still the same fried, sugary perfection from my childhood... golden brown on the outside, warm, and pillowy goodness on the inside. The original will always be my number one, but the haupia filling? So delicious Honestly, you can't go wrong with any of them. Thank you malasadas gods for making my deep-fried post hike dreams come true.
