Was in Hawaii for a week and visited Lotus three times because the coffee and food was so good. The base black coffee is phenomenal which of course also made the cappuccino I tried delicious and the food was impressively tasty: I’m still talking about the grilled cheese a week later as well as the Portuguese bean soup and empanadas. The comfortable setting was the cherry on top.

I really wanted to like this new cafe that just popped up in kaimuki. The people working behind the counter are really sweet & the artwork in the seating area is beautiful, but the food & drink service needs a lot of work. I ordered a macchiato & after trying to explain to the folks behind the counter what a macchiato is, I received more of a mini latte- the milk was steamed into oblivion and burnt the espresso. I’m also fairly certain the “baked in house” croissants are something like a pillsbury pull-apart situation… not quite a croissant. Great location- I hope they decide to level up their food & drink service!

Bright lovely space. I sat down for 2 hours doing work- wish it was cooler inside the coffee shop. I enjoyed my cappuccino without any syrup to try out their Espresso. I liked it :)

Sad looking coffee that tasted okay. I ordered a flat white and you can clearly see it’s not a flat white (it came in a 12oz cup). I don’t think the staff knew what it was, charged it as a latte and made something up. There was also only like one other person in the cafe yet they still served us in to go cups which was strange.
I hope they can improve the service and drinks since the space is nice and spacious, and has free wifi & bathrooms and seemed like a nice spot to work.

This is a good cafe to work at. It has tables, lots of daylight, and quite music.
The food is remarkably fresh. They have a kitchen in the back. I don't think I've ever been to a cafe that serves food of such quality. I especially like their soups and salmon bagel.

First time I visited this place, they just opened that week...went back a couple of times and thought they were not going to make it.
The atmosphere has an Asian fusion / inspired theme that caters to mainland hipster/surfer students from UHM. Good hangout / study area, plenty of space, and i think wifi was free.
Service is friendly.
For food, the lox bagel and cubano sandwish was good. Cold brew was okay, though their standard hot coffee was not bad. Price is comparable to other coffee shops in the area.
Place is slowly getting busier on certain days and times. Good luck.
