This place was pretty hyped, but it didn’t fully live up to it for me. The tuna was definitely fresh—caught locally—which I appreciated. I got the Spicy Mayo Ahi, and while it was good, it wasn’t truly spicy. I had to ask for wasabi and ginger to boost the flavor, but each cost $2, which felt excessive. It’s a large size, but for one person it’s more than needed. The size of the meal is decent as well. I thought I would need the large because I was really hungry but the regular size ended up being more than enough. Overall, solid but not worth traveling to Hawaii just for it.

My must get every time I come to Oahu. Fish is so fresh and delicious. The rice is so yummy that you’d be happy to eat it alone. There’s usually a line but it will move quick and definitely worth the wait. 10/10

Tried out Maguro Brothers for a weekday dinner. It was busy but the line moved quickly, order only took 10 minutes. Their original location is in the Chinatown area.

- Hamachi wasabi ($19.96 USD large) - fresh hamachi, slight kick from the wasabi
- Macnuts king salmon spicy mayo ($15.52 USD regular) - well balanced flavours
- Medium sashimi platter ($54.95 USD for 40) - king salmon, ahi, hamachi and tako

I have eaten many poke bowls in my life, but it seems to me that this is the father of all poke balls, it is not the most delicious, but it is the most natural, fresh and healthy, I definitely recommend this place 1000%, there is a small line to buy a product, but it passes quickly.

It was so delicious!
In a good way, I thought it would be better to eat seafood in Japan, but in a good way, it betrayed my thoughts!

The line was a little long ?

Ordered the sashimi platter B with the chutoro upgrade, was definitely not disappointed! All the fish was super fresh and very delicious. Waited about 15 mins for the order but that’s because they cut up the fish to order. Amazing, definitely will be back before I leave Honolulu!

Best sushi on the island! I had dinner here 4 out of 5 days I was there (they close on Sunday or else I would eat here 5 days haha) People there are sooooo nice and kind. The quality of the fish is top tier compared to the price.

I had big eye toro and blue fin tuna toro, ikura, uni, and tamago. I personally can’t eat uni bc every other places I tried is fishy(I always order uni at sushi restaurant just to see if it meet my final standards) but I love uni here!! It’s sweet and creamy which is better than omakaze I had in New York! Highly recommend!

The food was very good. We had to queue for 20 minutes and wait 15 minutes for the food. This shows how popular this place is.
In my opinion, the XL portion is still small and I could have eaten two such portions.

It’s not worth waiting an hour. The food isn’t bad, but it’s definitely not worth the wait.

Sashimi and Poke were excellent but we expected better, based on the line out the door. There are other equally qualified spots on the Island that aren’t as busy. Is it a tourist/reputation thing? The Wasabi tasted like it had real Wasabi in it instead of just being colored horseradish like most places. Crew was kind and considerate. Eatery is downstairs with some tables and chairs set out, but it wasn’t an inviting setting: Take it out and go sit on the beach!
