BEST MEAL EVER. My boyfriend and I came here for our Anniversary and we were blown away with every dish. This place is on the pricier side but we thought the prices were all reasonable, especially with the quality and thought that goes into each dish. The sea urchin pasta was the best pasta I've ever had, and I'm not typically a fan of sea urchin. As for service, everyone was so helpful, kind and knowledgeable of the food. My boyfriend and I are younger and have experienced rude service at other fine dining restaurants because of it but NOT here. For example, we don't know wines and had a silly reason why we picked one but the server just joked along with us and recommended another one to try as well and it was great! This restaurant does not get the hype that it deserves and I'm hoping that changes.

Incredible experience, from the food to the service everything was perfect. I cannot praise this place enough. The A5 Wagyu was the best dish I have ever had, and I have had A5 wagyu on tasting experiences before. Truly a place of skill and kindness, make this part of your trip!!

The food was okay. I ordered the rib eye steak, which had no flavour and was not salty enough. Disappointing. My partner ordered the fresh snapper, which was delicious. The pasta was a little disappointing, as the cilantro garnish overpowered the lobster, which was the main ingredient. It was not well balanced. The biggest disappointment was the service. For a fine dining restaurant, the water was not served properly. He served it across in front of me. He should have served it behind/to the right of me. Doesn't seem to have been properly trained. And the sommelier was even worse. He forced me to agree with what he recommended instead of listening to me. Why did he force me to agree with his opinion? I wish he had listened more to my comments on the wine selection.

It's date night we ordered a glass of champagne each and we're going for the 11 course tasting menu $200@ person as it came highly recommended. After enjoying our champagne we decided to get a bottle but, it was never present to us and opened in front of us as done in every restaurant we had been to, they gave a few more glasses and said that's a bottle. I was expecting better service to match the price. The food quality was low and didn't meet the price as well, what was worse we witnessed what appeared to be the dishwasher assisting with separating the egg yolk from the white with bare hands wearing rings?. The bill was $1023 without tip, I guess the winter black truffle was $300 add for maybe 30G ?

The overall experience was good but not great. For the fine dining at this price, I would expected the top notch service but turned out the server forgot to bring us the menu and let me hang at the table for 45 mins. This should never happened when it’s not even busy at the restaurant . So the overall meal took us over 2 hours to finish because of the waiting. By the end of the meal, we’re very exhausted and not so much enjoying the food and just want to go home. I’d suggest to the service team to learn more from those 5-stars hotels on what the luxury dining experience should be. This is more likely just expensive restaurant with good and creative foods.

Fantastic restaurant. They've made a lot of great changes in the last year. Their on premises somelier has great taste. Food is delicious as always and I look forward to the new chef, Shiori, to make changes to the menu

Absolutely magical dining experience with so many exciting menu selections. Highly recommend the caviar. The staff made the whole evening absolutely wonderful. Looking forward to returning.

the Go to Place if you're looking for fine dining in Honolulu :) Definitely recommend Head Sommelier Lee and his choice of recommendations are superbly satisfying. The dishes have Japanese interpretations of French cuisine.

Our son wanted to treat us to a very special dining experience while we were in town visiting. Margotto’s exceeded our expectations! From the minute we walked up to the door, we were impressed with the excellent service. The staff catered to all of our needs including providing cozy blankets when I mentioned I forgot my wrap. They provided relatable explanations of the ingredients and tools used to prepare the food for all of us, including our younger children. The dishes were fresh, creatively plated, and delicious. The artwork in the restaurant was beautiful and the background music perfect for the experience. It’s hard to pick a favorite dish, but everyone agreed that the homemade vanilla ice cream and whimsical chocolate surprise at the end of the meal really knocked it out the park. Would wholeheartedly recommend for an amazing dining experience you won’t forget!

It’s a 5 star memorable experience and it’s our best meal in Hawaii. Every dish was executed near perfection and we were very satisfied after the meal. Even after days have passed, we were still missing many dishes we had on that night.

The A5 Miyazaki Wagyu tartare is a MUST TRY if you are ok to take raw beef. This is the best tartare we had tried so far in our life.

We also recommend you try the Marinated red yolk caviar as the quality is really good.

For mains and our best dish of the night is the Australian Duck with Foie Gras! This is a perfect dish after we add on the black truffle to elevate the flavour of this dish. The duck is so tender and juicy and the Foie Gras tasted so amazingly great that we wish we had one more portion.

For dessert, it’s the Vanilla ice cream with white truffle honey surprised us. It’s the best ice cream I have eaten in my life. The white truffle blends in so well with the freshly made vanilla ice cream and we felt extremely pampered.

Big shout out to Lee and his team for the wonderful service that night that made our anniversary celebration very special for us. Thanks a lot and we will surely return again when we come back to Hawaii for our holiday.

I highly recommend this lovely restaurant. It is a must-visit restaurant in Hawaii right now. I heard the steak is also very delicious here, but if you like fresh seafood, that's definitely a reason why you should visit here. The lobster and other seafood were so fresh and delicious. The staff in Margotto Hawaii is very friendly and we all love here.

From parking our car virtually at the front door and being greeted a moment later all was first class. The wait staff, including the sommelier, were appropriately attentive without being overly ‘cloying.' We opted for the 10 course grand degustation with wine pairing and were more than pleased at every stage. Courses were timely and without fail a pleasure to the eyes and mouth. I can't recommend more highly and in my opinion, and I've dined at a number of Michelin 3 starred restaurants in the states and France, Margotto Hawaiian Restaurant is the best on the islands.
