Our waiter Kody made our dinner such a fun and enjoyable experience. His recommendations were spot-on, and his service was truly outstanding. We will request him on our next visit.
Good ambiance & decor; for the price point, the food was mediocre—there was too much grease/oil on our sandwiches and the fish/shrimp/chips were overly fried; service was very slow to the point where we had to ask for water refills and utensils. I was disappointed.
We had an excellent dinner and the waiter was attentive and knowledgeable. We appreciate the great hospitality. Mahalo!
Very very good food, Very very loud, excellent service very expensive but worth it due to the elevated taste of the food!
Alyssa is an absolute superstar—always warm, attentive, and genuinely makes every visit feel special. The restaurant's organizational culture is simply exemplary; every member of the team seems committed to making Merriman's an outstanding experience. Hands down, these are my favorite fish tacos on the entire island—perfectly fresh, flavorful, and impossible to resist. Paired with their outstanding Mai Tai, it's paradise in a glass! We are already counting down the days until we go back. Highly recommend—don't miss out!
Excellent dinner and happy hour. Reasonably well priced. Wonderful meal that I could not stop eating! Would have loved to try everything on the menu.
Cody was amazing. He provided great service. Very personable and he explained the menu and just a very genuine person. Our meal was delicious from the presentation to the taste. We want to thank you for a great evening.
Had a great dinner. When our server, Theo, found out we were celebrating my wife's retirement, he brought over two complementary glasses of champagne. Later, when our wine for our entrees was delayed, he comped those too. The food was delicious. We were so stuffed we didn't have room for dessert, but Theo brought us a scoop of vanilla ice cream anyway. Overall, wonderful service and experience.
Our entire experience was very enjoyable. The staff sat us at a table that was roomy & comfortable. Our server, Serena, had a beautiful smile throughout our stay at the restaurant. She was attentive without hovering over us. She helped make our experience memorable. The food was delicious. The portions were just right where we weren't stuffed nor were we left hunger. Kudos to Merriman's!
The food was very excellent. Our server Noah was very nice and friendly. The Pot Pie was excellent!

Absolutely our best meal in Hawaii. The right choice to celebrate a special occasion. Our experience was so wonderful, food, wine, atmosphere all made for the best evening. Our server, Julian was absolutely top notch, extremely friendly, attentive, and was just so happy to engage ensuring the celebration was more than we expected. Kudos he deserves it. Highly recommend this place. Will definitely be back.

This restaurant holds such a special place in my heart, and it’s one of the spots I truly miss the most since I no longer live at the Anaha building. It was always my little haven — a place that felt comforting, familiar, and consistently exceptional. Known for its beautiful farm-to-plate concept, every dish feels thoughtfully created with the freshest organic ingredients, and you can genuinely taste the love and care in every bite.
The beet salad is an absolute dream — vibrant, crisp, and perfectly balanced with flavors that feel both refreshing and indulgent. And the wild-caught salmon? Simply mouthwatering. Cooked to perfection every single time, it melts in your mouth and leaves you savoring every last bite. But the true star for me will always be the French onion soup. Rich, deeply flavorful, and soul-warming, it’s hands down the best I’ve ever had and a must-have on every visit. No trip to Honolulu feels complete without stopping here and ordering it.
The service is just as spectacular as the food. The staff are warm, attentive, and make you feel genuinely welcomed, whether you’re dressed up for a special occasion or just casually stopping by. On my last visit, I was out on a walk and a little underdressed, but I still felt completely comfortable and cared for, which speaks volumes about the atmosphere and hospitality here.
This place isn’t just a restaurant — it’s an experience, a memory, and a tradition I hold close. It’s a reminder of cozy evenings, peaceful lunches, and moments of pure joy over beautifully crafted meals. I will forever cherish it and will always make it a priority whenever I’m back in Honolulu. Truly a gem that never disappoints.

Fantastic place to dine. I'm really stingy with five stars, but I was tempted to give Merriman's five. The lobster pot pie was fantastic, and so was the shrimp appetizer. The chocolate pouch was amazing, and the iced cream that came with it was clearly house made. The only reason I didn't give Merriman's five is that I was hoping for slightly more original specials. The execution on their advertised menu was still to notch.
Today is my husband's birthday. We planned to celebrate for his birthday at Merriman. Server was very very nice, so helpful. Food was super delicious using Hawai'i grown. We were so happy we could enjoy.
Merriman's has become an annual tradition for a friend's birthday celebration. The ahi special was terrific, but the biscuits alone would justify the dining.
