Michel's at the Colony Surf never disappoints. The setting is a perfect 10, as is the ambiance, cuisine and welcoming service. Speaking of service, Titan and the entire staff seamlessly elevate the experience to the highest level in all of Honolulu. Don't miss the next opportunity to dine at this incredible establishment for an evening you will never forget.
The tasting menu with wine pairings was a great way to introduce ourselves to the excellent dishes and service offered. Our server, Michael, was welcoming, knowledgeable, and entertaining.
Had the fixed menu and was exceptional with lobster bisque and Caesar salad table prepared, ahi tartar, filet and subbed table side bananas foster ... have been dining here 20 years and all just as incredible as first time! My filet a bit overcooked but still great and their lobster bisque a bit heavier, but again still very memorable and well prepared. It is pricey but you know that going in and the service matches the price in providing a very memorable experience!
Nice atmosphere but completely overpriced for the standard of food. Also plates being cleared from the table while not all diners are finished eating is not etiquette for a fine dining restaurant. The best that this restaurant has going for it is its stunning location.
Another great dining experience at Michel's, from the atmosphere, amazing service, and wonderful food to the location. We've dined here a number of times over the years and have never been disappointed!
A long established special occasion spot near Diamond Head, we went to celebrate my wife's 50th birthday. We were treated like royalty upon arrival. A great table with a view of the sunset (I requested in advance). Service was stellar - Stuart was a fount of knowledge- maybe a bit too much. The amous bouche was incredible. Our soups were great - the French onion and Lobster bisque (which is prepared tableside). Our steak and lobster dishes were also delicious. We hit a small snag when my wife plate came with a cabbage that included an item she requested be left off (not a true allergy but more an aversion). The server returned quickly with a fresh, corrected plate. Although we didn't share for that 2nd place the steak was undercooked for her ordered temp. However our server had told us upfront that chef had prepared a special dessert for my wife's birthday and with the original error, they were also giving us a chocolate soufflé on the house (both weee phenomenal. The drinks we had were also outstanding. Highly recommend the smoked old fashioned. My wife loved her cosmos.
I've been a customer here since 1984! The old days of greatness has long been gone. Today we came to celebrate our 15th Anniversary and requested Phillip (longtime house manager & friend) to seat us on the rail by the sea. We arrived 5:15 to 6 empty tables on rail. The CLUELESS INEXPERIENCED HOSTESS refused to seat us where we requested. We walked and had a fabulous meal @ Orchids. Oceanside!! We will never return to Michel's! SHAMEFUL!! 😱🤬🤮
Great location and view while dinning. Complete attention to details by the server. Food quality excellent. Drinks very nice. Highly recommended this restaurant, if you are visiting. Ambience is very vibrant. Beautiful sunset.
What a difference a year makes—unfortunately, not in a good way. Michel's has long been one of our favorite spots for special occasions, thanks to its unbeatable setting and memorable food. The setting is still beautiful—sunset dining here is remarkable—but both the service and the food have slipped noticeably. The evening started on a sour note when we pulled in and saw the chef and manager smoking in the parking lot—not exactly the welcome you'd expect at a fine-dining restaurant. We were seated promptly, and our server was warm, attentive, and really tried her best. But she could only do so much. Other staff lingered at the wait station with blank expressions and loud chatter, which detracted from the experience. We ordered the tableside Caesar salad, which remains excellent and is still a must. Unfortunately, the entrées missed the mark: the duck was dry, and the bouillabaisse was overwhelmed by saffron. The quality simply didn't live up to what we've come to expect here. Overall, Michel's no longer delivers the fine-dining experience that once made it special. The view is still magical, but everything else feels diminished.
Once again the food and service at Michels were exceptional. The ambiance can't be beat but is matched by the table-side preparations and staff that treats us like old friends. Thanks Jhadi, Phillip and Chef Hardy for the memorable evening.

I must mention the flower arrangement near our table. It was very large and absolutely perfectly arranged. It was beautiful . We ordered the duck. Very good. Kalani, our server, took great care of throughout our stay. Everything we ordered was wonderful especially the cheesecake.
海沿いの素晴らしいロケーション。 素晴らしいサーバーの方でした。 しかし、ご飯は期待していたより劣りました。 その中でもビスクは美味しかった。 総合的にハワイの思い出には良かったです。
Our server Maya was friendly, courteous, and attentive. Caesar salad and Cherries jubilee were excellently prepared by her. Noise level elevated due to high surf, but did not detract from the overall dining experience. We enjoyed our dinner immensely.

Exquisite service, thoughtfully prepared food—a nod to more traditional French, American and Asian influences. The view and ambiance are truly memorable. One of the few places where you can have a traditional French soufflé!
