Located on the side of Rainbow Drive-In, this is a great place to go if you don't want the long lines at the Drive-In, or just want a small bite. They offer bowls and plates of their most popular items as well as Mike's huli huli chicken, KC Drive In waffle hotdogs, and fresh poke bowls. Wish they had a slightly larger selection, especially since they literally get the items from the Drive-In. And of course, the plus is the yummy shave ice from Shimazu!

Excellent quality Hawaiian grill food next to a busy and popular drive-in, location has its own parking available and has a shave ice bar attached as well. We tried the chicken and pork combination dish and it was very delicious, certainly will be coming back when in the island again.

Great "side-kick" to Rainbow Drive-In. Located right next store, you can avoid the long lines as long as you're ordering their popular dishes. I like that they have bowls if you're not really hungry enough for a plate lunch. They have local favorites like Waffle Hotdogs (ahhh...memories of peanut butter shakes from KC Drive-In) and even poke bowls. Another wonderful addition is Shimazu's shave ice. I remember going to their original location after Hongwanji Preschool with my grandparents. The only bad thing is their limited menu and the parking is kinda tough (reverse in). But we were super happy!

Shimazu Shave Ice is what Matsumoto's used to be. Great price for a large portion. Their syrups actually taste like the real fruit, especially their ube!Parking: Small parking lot.

Best shaved ice we had during our trip to Hawaii! We tried the shave ice + mochi and it was the best decision ever. They have so many flavors to choose from and honestly the price was totally worth it. Milk tea was BOMB

The food is horrible. The picture they posted for the pastrami sandwich was not what they gave me. They gave me two pieces of bread with lettuce and sliced tomatoes with the shaved pastrami in a separate container. It's pathetic. My root beer float wasn't a float. It was just milky.
Rude a** service with good food. Why 3 stars? Well the food is decent and huge portion. The flavor of poke is on point. Skip the nasty gravy chicken. The grilled chicken and pork ribs is good. But the lady behind the counter is very hard to talk to and then you have the sound of shave ice machine plus music and she gets frustrated taking your order. Lucky the lady has a job. Seriously she needs a vacation. Wait she lives in Oahu, what the heck? I guess when you live in an island isolated from the rest of the country, you can become crazy. Seating is hard to get. Shave ice is cash only even though the food stand allows credit card. Looks like bunch of owners being selfish and not wanting to make the place great. The fact that this place receives such high rating is beyond me.

Bought 2 waffle dogs. Checked if they sold beef stew, since they also sell rainbow menu items. No such luck, they had chicken stew, but my parents wanted beef. Asked if I can park in their lot to go rainbows next door, they were ok with it. Also came back after rainbows and bought ogo ¼ lb and spicy ahi ¼ lbs.

Garlic shrimp plate. First time here, not welcoming at all. No acknowledgment from the two people that were on staff. It looks clean, however the tables were sticky I'm assuming from the shave ice (which looked huge!). The shrimp was good when we got it. As time went on though, it got really tough. It came on the cardboard container and it didn't really soak through. I asked if I could bring my own container and they said no. Will come back for the shave ice in the future, not for anything else.

Wanted to try Rainbow since I kept seeing the commercials on the flight here. The parking lot was full but luckily this place is connected to it. Try the rotisserie chicken it's really good with the sauce they give.
