Good spot for mochi donuts. Nice selection of classic and unusual flavors. Donuts taste good and aren't greasy like they are from some other mochi donut places.

First and foremost: the store is located INSIDE Mitsuwa Marketplace. We were SUPER confused, we looked all around the mall, both floors, until we finally called the store and asked. They have 6 flavors, perfect to try one of each with a half dozen. Honestly they are simply amazing. My personal favorite ended up being the black sesame seeds one, but they all taste yummy and flavorful. Lilikoi was weakest for me, but I'm not big on lilikoi in the first place, much like for my lovely girlfriend, she was not a big fan of strawberry, whereas I thought it was amazing. At the end of the day, strongly and highly recommend everyone to get a half dozen and try each flavor. It was the first time I've seen my girlfriend absolutely go goblin mode on some food. No joke, We had some leftovers and the first thing she did when she woke up was eat the mochi donuts in bed. Absolutely fantastic, thank you MoDo for making my life easier, now I know that whenever my girlfriend needs a pick-me-up, I just have to swing by here for some mochi donuts. Pro tip: you also get your parking validated for spending over 10 dollars, so you can freely park at the international marketplace and explore the surroundings to while you're at it.

Modo donuts! OMGOSH! Okay, so, they are now made to order. If you have never had them warm....omgosh totally different experience, you have to try it! Crispy on the outside and Mochi chewy on the inside. Ah-may-zing! They're no longer at International Marketplace but temporarily at Remington Bldg. Go check em go check em GO! Sorry for picture forgot to take before it got devoured at the office

MoDo is a cute little mochi donut shop in the back of Mitsuwa Marketplace that I've been to a few times. It makes for a nice, quick snack as I'm browsing the area in Waikiki. The selection of donut flavors is small, but the options are good. I've tried the matcha, ube, strawberry, lilikoi, and kurogoma (black sesame) donuts from MoDo, and they all had good, thick icing and a strong flavor. My family's favorite flavor was the lilikoi, although I liked the matcha the best. The dough isn't super chewy the way some mochi products are. I do prefer some of the competitors' mochi donuts, but I would definitely get one from MoDo again if I was in Mitsuwa or the general area.

It's weird that thus place is so popular in the Bay area but it's so dead here. It's located in mitsuwa, so if u r looking in apple or Google map, u might have trouble finding this place. I'm glad some yelpers mentioned that they were in mitsuwa. The mochi donuts aren't served hot like they are in the bay area, but they were still delicious. Our favorite was lilikoi, and Matcha. But the rest were also yummy.

It's in the covered mall, on the second floor, at the back of the Mitsuwa Marketplace, which is at the front of the mall overlooking Kuhio. The matcha donut isn't terribly sweet, which was why I picked it. It tasted fresh, but it wasn't warm like it had just come out of the oven, even first thing in the morning, shortly after the place opened. It wasn't gummy, but a little bit chewier than a donut without mochi. The prices seem quite reasonable for a fancy donut in the middle of a tourist hot spot.

This was my first mochi donut experience, and it was everything I had hoped for and more! The donuts were so cute, perfectly chewy, and just the right level of sweetness. We tried all the flavors over the course of multiple visits, and our favorite was the black sesame, followed by the matcha and lillikoi. It's a little hard to find (tucked away in the back of the grocery store), and it will look like it's not even open since the one person who staffs it usually hangs out in the back, but ring the bell and they will come out to help you.

Yes, yes, yes and yes. I love MoDo doughnuts. Hands down the best mochi donuts. It was better than Lahilia Bakery that my friends have recommded. R MoDo is located inside the Mitsuwa Japanese supermarket, towards the back of the store. My favorite flavors here are passion fruit and strawberry. While I love black sesame, the black sesame donut isn't as potent as I'd like. However, all the donuts here are great. Passion fruit and strawberry just stand out more. :)

What's all the hype about Mochi donuts? You need to check out MoDo Hawaii to really find out - but I thinks it's worth it! Okay, so location - GPS gets confusing until you realize it's on the 2nd floor of the mall (and within another store- a little confusing). So you first need to fins Mitsuwa Marketplace on the 2nd floor; then at the back of that market is MoDo! *NO CASH - Cards only!!!! They have 6 flavors - the one we didn't try was Sesame Seed flavor. All 5 that we got tasted good, but my real favorite was the Cookies and Cream! The worker was super nice and we would go back in a heartbeat!

I've only ever tried MoDo's mochi donuts and Liliha's, but this is by far the winner. Not only do they have a much more extensive flavor selection, but the texture is much lighter and airy. I tried the black sesame and it was great! They nail the right amount of flavor subtlety and prominence. And it's not overly sweet like most traditional donuts. Their hours are a bit limited - I always found myself craving one of these donuts in the afternoon, when they are no longer open. So come for breakfast or grab your PM snack in the AM to save for later. They're also located in Mitsuwa Market, so don't go looking for the storefront out in the main corridor of the mall. Definitely worth a stop if you even remotely love mochi and/or donuts!

Mochi donuts with plenty of different flavors. I would suggest visiting here when they open rather than near closing time as their donuts are not as fresh otherwise.

Resounding what someone else said in another review. Pretty much all the flavors are good, except the cookies and cream. I grabbed one just to make sure, but the other flavors were much better. Easy and quick pick up from the back of the store on the second level.

The mochi donuts are still the best. I love the lilikoi one the best! Then the Macha one.

The best mochi donuts we've ever had. I'm still dreaming about it till this day, soo good. Ordered the cookie and crème, dark chocolate and lilokoi (passion fruit), lilokoi was my favorite. You've made me the happiest girl in Oahu, every bite was better than the next.
