Great sushi! First timer at Morio’s and it was a fun experience. We brought a few bottles of sake so we could share with the staff and with Morio. Omakase was excellent, super fresh fish and perfectly seasoned sushi rice. Will definitely be going back when we can get a reservation!

Had a really great experience at Morio’s. Was able to get a last minute reservation due to a cancellation. The restaurant is small and felt intimate and friendly, Morio came around to offer some whiskey, and the servers were very attentive and kind, taking the time to explain each course and paid attention to preferences. The food was amazing, cooked to perfection where it was cooked, and the sushi/sashimi were so fresh. It was basically fine dining in a casual setting.

Hands down, the best omakase available anywhere in Hawaii! Fabulous service and amazing food. Make sure you make a reservation because this place is rather difficult to get into... And for good reason. Can't find anything better.

Outstanding omakase at a very decent price. Morio's can be found on S King St next to Akira Japanese restaurant. You can park on the street (free after 6pm and all day on Sundays), or in their shared lot (validated for 3 hours I think).Chef Morio is such a funny and outgoing guy, which made our experience all the more fun. He creates delicious nigiri and small plate creations for you to enjoy, and like a true Japanese omakase, he'll keep feeding you until you tell him to stop. This is great for people who don't want to do a set course, since you get to choose the number of courses you enjoy, and the selection changes daily.

For those who know, this is a popular place that it takes months out to make reservation. Imma keep my review simple and short. I was lucky to finally try. This is a must if you haven't been. Chef Morio is funny and the server makes the experience even better. He shared his alcohol with everyone. Uni Ikura, hamachi kama, amebi and chawamushi was my fave. The waygu was definitely buttery good. Matti pizza was interesting.

FINALLY!! It was like 6 months wait till we came to eat here, on a whim I called an was like "any table's tonight" an there was. Best sushi I've had in a very long time. Excited as we walk in our table was set an my son immediately saw the edamame. We went for the omakase . So fresh very good . Thank you Morio! We will be back for more soon!

I've been to Morio's only a few times because I can't plan my life more than a week in advance and their reservations are booked like months out. On the few occasions I have gone, I have had great experiences. I actually went to the old location before they moved into the building they are in now. The building they are in now looks like an office or residential building with 2 restaurants on the ground level. The other restaurant, the one next to Morio's is another Japanese restaurant that I really like called Akira. Morio's basically has two seating times. A 6pm reservation time and like an 8pm reservation time. They offer omakase courses and a regular izakaya menu. Morio and his team do an excellent job getting you the freshest and most delicious sushi and non sushi dishes. I loved the chawanmushi, the amaebi, crispy shrimo, the uni with tobiko and the unagi. And of course the otoro. The otoro and salmon both were buttery and delicious. There were so many other things I tried, too. Nothing was disappointing. The parking is located in the building and they validate. The entrance is on the back side, near where the Daiso parking lot entrance is. If you don't want to valet or prefer parking on the street, the meters are free after 6:30 right in front of the building and it's usually pretty easy to get a spot. I prefer to park on Piikoi street, though. It's just a short walk over to Morio's.Morio's will always be one of my favorite sushi spots for special occasions. The waiters and waitresses are friendly and efficient. The food is delicious and it's a great experience overall. I will definitely be back when I can plan for it :)

Food was great and well done by a master of his craft, yet service could have been better. We were in the downstairs private room, and felt rushed and very minimal explanation on the dishes. I haven't been there to eat at the sushi counter, however I imagine that would be a much better experience to interact with the chef. For the price, and being in the private room, my opinion is service needs to step up a bit.

This place is amazing if you want an intimate omakase dinner! Yeah you don't know how much your dinner is gonna cost you until the end of the night but it's going to be worth it! Every dish is delicious but my favorite was the hamachi collar and fried baby tako (the batter is a korean fried chicken batter which makes it heavier and tastier than a tempura batter). Morio only gives you what is fresh and in season and up to his standard. If it's not and you request it, he still won't serve it to you - a sign of a good chef! It's BYOB and be there on time for your seating - if you're late, you will hold up the whole restaurant as they serve everyone all at once. Take a moment to admire the cool artwork on the wall - Morio said it was painted by his daughter! Talented family...
