We arrived 10 min early for our reservation and our table wasn't ready . They had us wait at the bar and we had a cocktail but they forgot about us . They figured it out and we were seated late . A waitress took our order and then other waitress came to take our order . We waited for 40 min with no food . Finally food comes and it is our dinner ! They said they put the dinner in as the first items and appetizers as the second. The waitress gave us the option of skipping the appetizers which we did . Then another staff member comes out with the appetizer . They didnt charge us for it but our overall experience was ruined . Nobody ever came and refilled our waters or drinks during the entire time . We paid and left . Food was fine but service was completely unacceptable .
Genuine island food. First time here. Staff so helpful in navigating menu to help me avoid gluten. Loved the fried Ulu appetizer. You must be slightly adventurous to dine here. No burgers and fries.
Our experience at dinner was far better. Food was mediocre. Nothing stood out except for the breadfruit chips. Luau, hash, banana pancakes and burger were bland, no usual “kick”. Pigs head fried rice was disappointing with too much gristle and fat bits. Server explained the dishes very well but service follow up lacking. We had to instruct her to remove several dirty plates. No refill of drinks or offer to do so. The table was so full of dirty dishes and we waited so long we gave up ordering desserts.
Amazing spot! Original dishes, skillfully prepared, emphasizing local products. Younger crowd, very chill atmosphere. Strongly recommend!
The family style dinner was a treat. So many interesting and delicious dishes to share. Our favorites were the sausage and clams and the fried breadfruit- but to be honest all were great. Very vegetable forward- which was nice. Our server and all of the staffwere knowledgeable and friendly. We would definitely recommend dining here if you have a chance.
One of the best restaurants on Oahu or any of the Hawaiian Islands (or anywhere, for that matter). The food is outstanding, inventive, and varied. It is all meant to be shared, and that allows for trying almost everything. My group probably tried a dozen dishes, and there was not a single disappointment. The restaurant will use old menus, cut up, so that some dishes don't slip on platters, etc. The result, intended or not, is to want those old menu items, too. That's how good it all is. The staff is fantastic, and you should let them guide you. This place is consistently well-reviewed, and it's easy to see why.
We ate here family style. It was absolutely enjoyable and one of the most pleasant dining experiences I've had on island. Even with the various allergies of our group we had a wide selection of options. My friend, a super foodie, remarked "this is the best pasta I've had on O'ahu". I'll be dreaming of that yogurt sauce the carrots were served over. My mom loved the fresh mint in her tea. I'll definitely be back for happy hour! Big mahalo.
Fantastic owners and wonderful wait staff... Mud Hen Water has been a favorite of ours. Its a fabulous local upscale eatery!
I love it here! Brunch was amazing and service was outstanding (especially with our large eclectic party).
The meatballs, focaccia and cocktails were incredible! It was very noisy with no music and the seating wasn't very comfortable. The service staff was nice, but very slow.

Fresh local ingredients served up with interesting regional spices and influences. Family style was a deal.
Fantastic reimagining of various Hawaiian food favorites. They do an excellent job of utilizing fresh, local ingredients and keeping the customer informed on where their food is coming from! We had the ahi crudo, the chicken long rice croquettes (AMAZING) and the venison hand-cut pasta. Every dish was delicious and accompanied with heartfelt service throughout. Highly recommended!
I love this restaurant. Have usually gone for brunch, but dinner was a treat. The staff is always so kind, professional and just plain nice, and exhibit a genuine appreciation that you have chosen to dine with them. The chef definitely creates dishes outside of the box, and his use of local ingredients is not only delicious but commendable. The lotus root veggie medley so original The sausage and clams perfect. Make sure you get the grilled bread so you can sop up the broth. My only comment was the crudo....delicious flavors, but heavy on the cucumber and light on the amount of fish. I shall return again and again.
What an awesome brunch space! Everything we ordered was delicious (roasted carrots, banana pancakes, ahi melt (usually ono is used but today it was ahi), and my iced Chai latte! Super extra brownie points for being dog friendly since we like to take Panda with us when we go out. He also made a few dog friends while there (Winnie and Rosie). Service was prompt and friendly. There are indoor and outdoor seating options. We will absolutely be back..but until then, I know I'll be dreaming about those scrumptious ulu fries!
Have always gone to Sunday Brunch for the Sourdough pancakes. They have been replaced with "Bali Pancakes" (whatever that means). The new pancakes lack the extra flavor the sourdough batter provided. Good pancakes, just not what they used to be.
