We fell in love with this place on our 1st trip to Hawaii but now the spam is hard and dried out. All the musubis purchased today at 3pm had terrible dried out spam. This is always the 1st stop for us and my heart is broken
Going early in the morning is definitely the way to go! We tried both the musubi and the onigiri here. I really wanted to love this place because it’s known for its musubi, but unfortunately, it was nothing special. The spam-to-rice ratio was 1:3, which made it really dry. The filling in the onigiri was very dry, and again, the rice ratio was way too high. I would suggest trying the musubi for yourself, but I recommend skipping the onigiri. Musubi Cafe Iyasume never disappoints! There are several Musubi Cafe locations, but I always come to this one because the quality is consistently top notch. The spam musubi is ofc a must, but my personal favorite is the salmon mayo onigiri!
