My mother ordered a regular miso ramen and she got a spicy ramen and the waiter just left when my mother obviously complained about the order and bad service. They also refused a refund when we asked for one. Aside from the really bad servers and order the food itself was very subpar.

After passing by so many times, we’ve finally came in for lunch. We tried the two Nagasaki specials, one with soup and the other one without. Basically they tasted the same, except for the soup (or the lack of) and the type of noodles with one being regular Raman and the other one has fried thin noodles. They were done, but definitely nothing worth any length of waiting for a table (we didn’t have to wait for lunch on a Saturday before the Marathon). The prices were within reason considering it has clean eating area and located within the Ala Moana Mall.

Weekday dinner in December 2024.
First visit after moving from Food Court.
Sara udon (regular) 16.50$
Spicy pork bone ramen 15.90$
Double tonkatsu set meal 18.90$
Karaage (5 pieces) set meal 16.90$
Eating shrimp tempura (5 pieces) 12.50$.
The pari noodles in the sara udon are rich, but the bean paste soup is small. It doesn't have the pork bone taste of ramen, but it has a nice spiciness. The miso soup that comes with the set meal has a chalky smell.
However, the staff's response and efficiency are very good 👍

December 2024. Teriyaki Chicken Don. Good portion size, however the meal was unedible. Teriyaki sauce tasted very burnt/bitter, fried/battered teriyaki chicken pieces a bit chewy and overall not appetising, had a few mouthfuls then disposed of. Was a shame really as server was great/looked clean. Charging top dollar should mean having an edible meal at least. Disappointing overall sadly.

Shrimp was not completely de-vained and there was hair on the dishes.

20241005 Winner for us! First time experience and was great food and service! On-site unisex bathroom and handwashing station. Takes Apple Pay. Plenty of parking on street level. Definite recommend.

We were absolutely amazed with the flavours. We had Karaage Chicken which was so huge and tender.
We also had the teriyaki chicken and crumbed pork fillet. OMG! All of it was absolutely outstanding. The teriyaki chicken thighs just fell apart and melted in your mouth. The Karaage chicken pieces were absolutely huge and also very tasty.
The food was the best Japanese dishes I’ve ever experienced in all my years of eating Japanese.
Not to mention the staff. They were sooooo helpful and not to mention the courtesy and friendliness.
The price was great considering the large serves.
The restaurant and kitchen were very clean and well presented.
I would not only recommend, but would suggest that you definitely give this restaurant a go if ever in Honolulu.
I was soooo impressed about the whole experience and wish we had this restaurant locally in Cairns AUS.
Do yourself a favour and totally ignore the overall rating as it DOES NOT reflect what we experienced today. Those that have it a low rating obviously have no idea on amazing dining and brilliant food.
Thank you to the team at Ringer Hut.
I would return in a heartbeat for more food to indulge. ?????????

Short haired male server was not helpful/forgetful and ruined the experience. Asked for hot water and additional takeaway dishes while dining and he forgot about it - we had to ask other waiters/waitresses about it.

Younger male server with slightly long hair and a hanging earring was more polite.

Food is not bad but miso soup is too salty/laden with msg though

solid choice when shopping at the ala moana mall, reasonably priced, clean, not the best ramens and udons but good enuff.. the takokyaki was surprisingly good as appetizer. its nice to sit down instead of fighting the horde in the many food courts.
