I’m honestly surprised with the average score, I think they deserve a higher one. Been here multiple times before. Food is consistently delicious. Maybe not mind blowing but it’s pretty decent. Food is well seasoned, not too salty and not too sweet for my liking.

Staff is friendly and the place is clean. Don’t expect American restaurant style of friendliness, they won’t ask if everything is OK on your first bite.

Staff is astonishingly rude. Oftentimes you will be ignored or bumped into. Food is so-so, about what you would expect. Won't come back here.

I passed this place yesterday during my shopping. Not sure how long they've been here? I had to try. I'm glad it's a place where you can get much cheaper Ramen noodles. The broth was tasty and temperature is perfect. I might try other dishes on their menu next visit.

Terrible service! I went with a student who ordered a meal, but because I didn’t order anything, the staff treated us with obvious coldness and disrespect. Absolutely unacceptable behavior — I won’t be coming back.

During the meal, before my student had finished eating, the staff attempted to take away the plate. After my student stopped her, she walked away without offering any apology. Shortly after, the check was tossed onto the table — no eye contact, no words, just hostility. I was shocked by this level of service.

When we asked for clarification, the restaurant manager responded by saying, “We are not a food court.” This statement, clearly dismissive and borderline discriminatory, was not only unprofessional but also deeply disrespectful to us as customers.

There was no posted policy about a minimum order or one-dish-per-person rule. I was quietly accompanying a student, not taking up space or causing any disruption. Still, we were treated as if we were a burden. Completely unacceptable. I will not return.

Worse, this interaction left a negative impression on the student, which is especially disappointing given the educational and social nature of the outing.

Should have more stars. Food is well balanced and fresh. Chicken and tonkotsu are juicy and the rice is great quality.

Always passed by but now i got to try it. Food was solid overall the tonkatsu wasn't greasy and was still juicy. the dipping sauce really brings the pork flavor out. good without it too. The gyoza though i was just a little bit disappointed. Thought it would be cheese sauce not cheese slices. Still good though.

I got the crispy noodle and it was good except the sauce was a little too sweet for me. Staff were friendly and very attentive. It's a nice place for lunch or dinner after a shopping trip.

Spicy ramen, fried gyoza and yakimeshi. Full till tomorrow!
I've never seen it busy (maybe because Japanese tourism is way down they say)

Good food, great service

You can't go wrong

We got gyoza and fried rice to go as well. Without about $25 per person

Not a big restaurant, so if you have a larger party it’s a bit of a wait. And not all the food comes out at the same time. The steamed rice was the prefect consistency. Nagasaki champon was delicious but it was kind of bland so I wish I had ordered the spicy version. Broth was not salty and the ingredients tasted fresh. Niku udon was better than Marugame’s. Tempura donburi was crispy. Portions were generous, prices were average.

Talk away on the street level of Alamoana shopping center. This a little hidden gem gives you a taste of Japan here in Hawaii. Oddly enough, one of the most satisfying items on their menu happens to be their rice for those of you that are rice aficionado’s, The rice. here is the perfect amount of sticky and provides the perfect palette in which to taste the rest of the flavors of each dish. My personal favorite is the tempura don. Prices are reasonable. It is overall good vibes and good food.

Located on the ground floor of Ala Moana, this is a good choice for a quick Japanese meal.
Food is good but not outstanding. Portions are generous and the prices are reasonable.
