Their sandwiches may be good but I went to get a smoothie and asked the girl at the counter about them but she said she hadn’t tried any of them, even though she had worked there several months. Then she proceeded to ask two more girls about the smoothies and booth of them had not tried anything other than the peanut butter one. I just guessed and picked one and it was whack. No one wants to spend $11 on a bland runny smoothie. Obviously the owner doesn’t care about educating their employees on the product. All the girls working there were super nice, so it’s not their fault.

I visited nalu because it was my son's name, but when I looked it up later, it turned out to be a popular acai restaurant, so I was lucky to get there without lining up. It might be recommended in the morning as there are empty seats. If you want something delicious like acai that you don't usually order. I also ordered a panini and it was excellent. I will definitely come back again when I visit Hawaii again!
Kid-friendliness: There is no cutlery service, but the store is spacious enough to accommodate strollers.

The steak sandwich while tasty and well made is insanely over priced. I do not recommend this place because of how everything is expensive.
Coming from the beach, working, shopping, meeting up with friends, and so on, this is my go-to spot. I love their wraps/panini sandwiches with either Steak or Ahi, and their Nalu special sauce is so delicious. I also love their green salad served as a side, and I love their Ulu banana bread. The staff their are always so nice and helpful.
Parking: Lots and lots of garage parking
Kid-friendliness: Big area for kids to run around on the outside of the restaurant.
It's about a 10 minute walk from Ala Moana, but it's not crowded so you can relax.
The acai ball was of course delicious.

Unfortunately the service was not it. I walked into the empty cafe and ordered an acai bowl and tipped 25% to support the small business and since they seemed to have a lot of staff on hand. I sat down and waited 20 minutes for my order and watched someone who ordered after me get theirs. My order never came so I asked at the counter and it turns out they had forgotten it. Staff didn't seem very apologetic. I got my order 5 minutes after. It tasted fine but the customer service was not ideal, especially since there weren't many customers.
