Another great meal! So sad this restaurant closed after last night. Would love to know if it re-opens in any shape or form as the food was excellent. Visited 4 times in the last 3 years and I live in California! My husband is bummed that he never got to eat here.
Five stars This place is missed already. Nami Kaze was an experience. Great food. Solid service. Caring staff. Everything most places are not. Mahalo to everyone who made dining at Nami Kaze great. An unpretentious, well oiled machine. Ulu tots, the best Cesar salad, sushi to die for. And those desserts...some ‘ono. Glad to have had the experience.
Nami Kaze is the perfect spot to dine with friends, for special occasions, or just for a night out. My husband and I enjoy everything about Nami Kaze. Our wait help also said that of the places he has served as waiter, he feels Nami Kaze is the best place to work because the Executive Chef/Owner cares about his customers, the quality of food he serves, and he cares about his employees. I personally am saddened that Nami Kaze will be closing. It is unfortunate because Nami Kaze represents Hawai`i very well in the food industry. Good Luck to Executive Chef Jason Peel wherever he goes. In my heart of hearts, I know that God has a bigger plan for him.
We had to go one last time. We're so sad they are closing. The food was amazing as usual. We wish them all the best!
The food was outstanding! We loved every dish. The service was also great! We are so sad that they are closing at the end of this month.
I am going to miss this place and all of the employees. My boss and I loved going to Nami Kaze for lunch every week. The food was always delicious, the employees were always so nice to us. The price is very reasonable for the service that we ALWAYS receive, "you get what you pay for" everytime and more! A hui hou Nami Kaze!
We were so happy to be able to get a reservation before the closing. Chef Peel, please let us know where your next endeavor will be as e will be there. Phenomenal food and service.
The most amazing food experience we had in a while. Every dish was so delicious from start to finish. The service was wonderful too. Sad to see this place go.
Great customer service, very impressed with the food selection and the unique preparation. Everything we ordered was tasty and delicious. Hope to see chef/owner open another restaurant soon.

Although every visit to Nami Kaze has been outstanding, I can understand why Chef Jason Peel made the decision to close this local favorite restaurant. Maintaining a menu of this depth while maintaining the quality of each dish while keeping prices within reason in these economically challenging times is a struggle. We enjoyed our final visit here with Soft Cold Tofu, Lobster appetizer (escargot-style), Chawanmushi, Ulu Tots, Kauai Gote Roll, Truffle Ahi Roll, U-make Me Happy Roll, Hamachi Crudo, Octopus, Scallops, Kanpachi, Kanpachi Kama, Lukki Lemon, and Asato Family Sorbet. The names of the dishes are deceptively simple; each dish was detailed with fine ingredients that most home cooks wouldn't have in the pantry. We look forward to Chef Peel's next venture, and we wish the entire staff the best on their next journey. Thank you for the fabulous memories at Nami Kaze!
I'm very sorry to see that this establishment plans to close at the end of the month. It's been a "special occasion" favorite for me. This special occasion was a birthday dinner for my husband -- who's a challenging customer to please. Needless to say, he loved everything we ordered, especially the short ribs, which he described as just the way he liked them. The Specialty Rolls are always my fave, along with the hamachi kama (which wasn't on the menu this time). Mahalo nui for the great food and service. I really hope you'll open another venue in the near future!! A hui hou.
Everything was very delicious. My favorite was the Kanpachi, which the server recommended, and the mustard cabbage, but the lobster escargot, pork belly, miso cod, and green beans were all very tasty as well. The lemon dessert was a perfect ending as well--wonderfully tart and refreshing. I will be sad to see them close!
Super nice, first off our server was super attentive and friendly and service was super fast. Everything we ordered was delicious and well felt like the value was definitely there. Dessert was such a perfect ending that continued to blow us away like the rest of the meal! :) very happy, hope to go again in the next 2 weeks!
We are so sad that this restaurant is closing at the end of the month. I've eaten here many times in the past and wanted to have a last meal with all of our favorites. It did not disappoint. Good luck to Chef Peel and the wonderful staff.
