A great experience. The six course was excellent, interesting, flavorful and creative dishes, with an amazing and engaging staff, simple yet ample by-the-glass and bottle wine list and sake list. I would definitely return.

Food was okay but severely overpriced for what it was. The wine pairing came with several cheap wines and did not justify the cost at all. I would go somewhere else.

The food was pretty good in general. I think the $88 set menu was good enough; the portion is able to fill you well. The more expansive set menu gives you 2 more courses, and those two were actually not impressive at all.
I would recommend the lower-tier menu.

An explosive culinary experience. Some of the best flavors you'll find in Hawaii. The chef is incredibly hardworking and an expert in his craft. Be sure to get a bar seat and bring your appetite!

Kaiseki 5 six course set menu, very delicately handcrafted by the Chef who has been serving this restaurant for 15 years; each course is unique, artistically presented, with balanced flavors
Service 5 friendly, attentive
Ambience 5 spacious, clean, minimalistic

We made a reservation weeks in advance and specifically requested counter (bar) seating — both by selecting it in the reservation system and clearly noting it in the comments. When we arrived on time, we were told no counter seats were available because they forgot to reserve them for us. We were kept waiting for 20 minutes, then offered a regular table instead, with a promise to move us to the counter after 30 minutes. In reality, we waited over an hour before finally being moved.
To make things worse, the table next to us was extremely loud — people shouting, laughing nonstop — and no staff member ever stepped in to address it. The entire experience was chaotic and disappointing. Despite the restaurant’s clear mistake and the inconvenience we experienced, no apology beyond a simple “we forgot,” and no compensation of any kind was offered.
I expected much better service and professionalism from a restaurant of this reputation

It is always a treat to come here to dine and enjoy the beautiful presentation with the Nanzan pottery. We enjoyed every dish with delicate flavor and careful preparations. The waiter and waitress were friendly as well as the main chef. Parking is rather limited on the street.

Firstly, the staff here are some of the most friendly and knowledgeable of their food I’ve come across in all my travels around the world. The chef will take the time to visit with each patron ensuring the meal was everything you had hoped for, most importantly the food was delectable. Each dish was honestly the best I’ve had on the whole island and some of the best fish I’ve had in my life. If you’re hesitant on the price for the tasting menu as that’s what this restaurant is don’t be, save up if need be because it’s truly special.

The food is good but why is there no soda

We picked the 6 course meal with one add on each. Every dish was so well executed and every bite was a flavor bomb. I see some of the other reviews say the portions are small but it didn’t feel that way for us; we were stuffed by the end of the meal. Each dish had a main protein and they were all premium ingredients (eg black cod, Hokkaido scallops, lobster, snapper).
If I had one critique it would be the open kitchen - while it was interesting to watch the staff work, it did seem a bit chaotic at times. Some of the staffs seemed to be in training and that took away from the experience a little bit. Overall we were vert satisfied though.
We had 6 course dinner with sake pairing. Each dish was delicious our favorite being the duck ochazuke. However the sake pairings were sometimes late (mid-course) and the music was a mix of pop songs and other genres which was a little distracting
We love this restaurant for its beautiful dishes, its high quality ingredients, its creativity, its super friendly service, its understatement, its delicious desserts and most of it all for its wonderful dashis! Go eat there!
Totally disappointed to spend money here. We have a table in front of a sink. The place is too small plus the toilet is dirty too. Food is a disaster and its not worth money. This is omakase but not fancy and no raw fish. We chose 9 courses 168$ no tax and tips. But the food is not good and small portion. We have to pay extra 80$ just for two pieces of lobster, a little caviar and 2 pieces of fish and the dessert is terrible its the normal chocolate cake and a matcha tea. Thats it. I feel so cheated to eat here!
