Food is good, nothing fancy, ok prices. I like the crab cake burger best. Service is usually counter service, but is full table service for dinner only. Not much atmosphere, but outside is better.

I got oysters from the seafood market. $12.50 for a half dozen Washington oysters. Got the first and chips from the restaurant. They were superb. Great atmosphere.

We got there early. They seated us after the table was ready. They put us in a quiet section by the window although there were large groups around. The food was excellent. There was a mix up on my steak. I ordered a rib eye and they gave me a New York cut. The rib eye and New York cut was the same price so I ate it. Perfectly cooked. Other than that, excellent food and service. The waiter was the same one from the last time we celebrated our anniversary last July. We will definitely go there for our anniversary again.

I met up with one of my best friends for lunch on my recent trip to Hawaii at Nico’s Pier 38. It was on the water in the downtown shipping piers. This is a large restaurant with both indoor and outdoor seating and a bar. There is also a sushi bar to get fresh fish and poke. My friend got some sashimi as an appetizer which he approved. For lunch we both got combo plates, he got Hosin BBQ chicken and hamburger steak and I got crispy Orange chicken with chicken katsu. The food was great and the portions were big. There wasn’t any table service, you ordered at the cashier when you arrived and found your own seat. The prices were good for the quality and quantity of food. If your in Hawaii on Oahu looking for a place to eat where locals go I recommend this place.

Good experience overall. The food was good but could’ve been better for the price. The atmosphere was nice. We enjoyed the live music. Service could have been a little as we were seldomly checked on, and it wasn’t busy during the time of our visit.

You have to visit this place when in Honolulu and area. Best bang for your buck. Food is amazing, prices are more than fair for the island.

Our waiter Elliott was phenomenal, excellent recommendations from the menu with the absolute perfect wine pairing. Sliders were great, French onion soup may be the best on island. Sea bass was cooked perfectly.

I have loved taking friends and visitors from the mainland to Upstairs at Pier 38. Last night, one steak was over cooked and had to be send back, the seared Ahi was dry and the plating was not very imaginative. Service was great but we paid top dollar for a mediocre meal.

Overall the food tastes ok. However, in my experience, the cooked fish dishes are dry 90% of the time, so non-fish dishes tend to be a safer choice. Ironic for a seafood restaurant. The dishes tend to be expensive too, with portion sizes that don’t live up to the price point. On my most recent visit, I ordered three fish plates, and they were all about $20-25 dollars while each only had one fillet of fish.

On the market side, you can get poke bowls which are a bit on the pricy side. This is slightly offset by the bowls being slightly larger than average and getting up to three choices of different poke varieties.

Great experience all around! From the attentive service to the quality of the food and the ambiance, everything was excellent. They didn't have my preferred liquor, but the substitute they recommended exceeded my expectations—hands down the best mixed drink I've ever had. The food was top-notch, down to the rolls and butter spread. Even after we finished our meals, we didn't want the plates taken away because we were too busy using the bread to soak up the remaining sauce. Compliments to the kitchen staff—you can truly tell time, care, and pride went into both the cooking and the plating.

First time here. I ordered the fish and chips dish which is considered one of their favorites. The garlic fries (chips) were pretty good. The fish itself was very tough - not like the buttery cod you would expect on the mainland. It was not very good - tasted fine but tough fish is not a pleasant experience.

Google AI summary of this place says the portions are “generous” but I highly disagree. It was a thick, single filet of fish about the diameter of a burger patty, rather than the usual long thin strips of cod, usually two or three, you get elsewhere.

Crème brûlée cheese cake was great. Service was also great despite it being busy. Live music was nice but made the atmosphere really loud, especially since every table and the bar was full. When the musician took a break, the atmosphere quieted down to a more reasonable level.

Probably worth checking out overall, but I’d need to try another dish to raise my overall rating past a 3/5

A fun open bar atmosphere, at the end of the industrial/ commercial district at the piers. (You drive through warehouses to get there) a nice setting. Food was ok, we had a group of 10 and they decided the fish and chips was the best thing on the menu. They have a special bar drinks menu but a full bar and some beers on offer. Good for large groups and events.
