I do not recommend this store. I called ahead to place an order, but they told me they weren’t accepting phone orders and that I had to come in person. I arrived right at opening (7 AM), only to be told the mochi weren’t ready and to come back at 10 AM. To avoid another wasted trip, I placed an order for pickup at 1:30 PM. However, when I arrived at 1:30 PM, the worker was incompetent—she stated she had forgotten to put in my order, and they had sold out of everything.

To make matters worse, I traveled from out of state, and this was our last day in Hawaii. This completely wasted my time and our last day here. I was really looking forward to trying this place, but their disorganization and lack of care ruined the experience. Very frustrating and disappointing service.

Even if the mochi are good (wouldn't know), the hostile attitude of the seller, and the complete lack of flexibility for a $10 credit card minimum, make it not worth the hassle.

The best mochi store in Oahu. It's located in a nondescript warehouse, a little hard to find. My family loves the chichi-dango.

Never in my life I’d think I would fall in love with rice cakes. The strawberry dangos were absolutely fresh and soft, and took me by surprise. The subtle sweetness of the mochi and the different fillings were all tasty. The location is a big warehouse, but the actual store is just a tiny room. To think this store has been serving customers for over 120 years is mind-blowing.

Best place for chi chi dongo! With all the rail construction, it's hard to get to, but it's well worth the effort!

Mochi is so soft and fresh. There's not much of a waiting line early in the morning. So come early. Service is fast.

Parking: Finding parking can be a challenge. Not many stalls. The store is also fairly small and so there will be a line forming outside of Nisshodo - worth the wait, though.
