I came here because the soft serve is dairy, free and vegan but if those words turn you off, they do not taste like they are dairy free or vegan. Their soft serve is creamy and smooth and the flavor is delightful. The staff is extremely helpful and even offers you a taste in case you were unsure of what flavors to have. I came with a group and ended up ordering sweet cream with fruity pebbles. The serving size is quite large for what you get and the staff will actually bring out your dessert to you rather than you waiting for your name to be called it was pretty empty when we went so it didn't really matter, but if it's crowded, it would be very difficult to hear your name so having your food brought out to you was very nice and a great touch. There are a few tables to sit inside however, it can get busy and end up getting pretty busy while we were there. Even with the hustle and bustle of the ice cream crowd, it was never so noisy that you couldn't hear your table talk. As for parking--There is plenty parking outside too so if you're anxious about parking, no need here. This queen ice cream shop will definitely satisfy your sweet tooth. It's worth a visit.

My wife and I come to honolulu every year and didnt realize this gem was here.. Customer service is top notch with very friendly staff! The vegan ice-cream selections were outta of this world. You honestly couldn't go wrong with any choice you make when shopping here. Its very hard to find good vegan ice-cream let alone vegan soft serve and these guys knocked it out of the park. We visited twice during our week stay and wish we had more time to check out the pie options but we ran out of time, which means we will be back again next year!. Prices are very fair and their toppings are endless. A little hard to find the location because its in-between some businesses but once you find where it is, you will be back a few times I guarantee it. Keep an eye out for their specials board too as they have alot of specials turning frequently. You can tell the people that run this shop care about customers by the friendly experience. Highly reccomend. Easily the best vegan ice cream we had on the island! Keep up the great work guys 🫱🏼🫲🏾.

This was a perfect treat to a hot Sunday afternoon. I has the liliko’i one and my mom had the hot kulolo sunday. It was very good. It had mochi on it and the hot kulolo was very good. Servers were very nice and friendly as well.

Niu is a small dessert parlor in Honolulu near the Waikiki strip. We were surprised to find that their soft serves are dairy, free, and made from coconut milk. The parlor also has other desserts, such as baked goods, ice cream sandwiches, shakes, and a holoholo pie that is also made of coconut ice cream. Service is friendly. Desserts are delicious. If you are looking for a good dairy free alternative, I would definitely check this place out. Even if you’re not, I would still check it out anyway.

This is the best place for us lactose- intolerant people to come and eat something soft, cold, and delicious. They have a rotating menu of special flavors each week , but you can always get coconut and ube. Surface is always fast and friendly.

This is such a wonderful soft serve/dessert shop! I love that they are completely vegan and they have such unique rotating flavors! The show stopper though, is definitely the strawberry milkshake and their hot kulolo sundae! The strawberry milkshake is made with GLUTEN FREE Malt so that means that people who are gluten and dairy intolerant can actually drink it! It tastes so delicious and wonderful in every way.
Their hot kulolo sundae is also so good. The hot kulolo mixed with the toasted macnuts make the sundae taste good regardless of the base. It's like a true taste of Hawaii in your mouth. 11/10 would recommend. Definitely a local favorite.
My only qualm is that I wish they were open later! I feel like they close just an hour too early because a lot of people aren't even done with dinner by the time they close! But I will forever be a patron to them and I try to go in as often as I can.
Visited last month for the first time and my TIP would be to get a combination of flavors! I got Niu (Coconut) and Ube with Hot Kulolo! Absolutely loved that it is Non-Dairy and my next visit I will try more toppings.

I always stop at Niu multiple times every time I visit Oahu. As a dairy-free girly, their soft serve doesn’t get much better than this. I absolutely love their Niu (coconut) flavor. It’s creamy, smooth and perfect in flavor. Their staff is always SO friendly as well. One thing thats always stands out to me is that they bring your order to you- instead of calling out your name for you to get it. Whether you’re the only person there or it’s busy.
