We were refused very rudely service due to my service animal 3 lbs Maltese. I’m Humiliated. They need to know the laws regarding service animals. The Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA) defines service animals as “dogs that are individually trained to do work or perform tasks for people with disabilities.” The act clearly states that animals that simply provide emotional comfort do not qualify as service animals. Some state and local laws have a broader definition, so be sure to check with local government agencies to learn if ESAs qualify for public access in your area.

I haven't been to this restaurant in decades. I passed by last night and saw the sign out front saying one of the specials is the oyster pancakes. I had expected the oysters to be chopped up into unrecognizable tiny pieces lost in the egg batter. Nope...each piece of whole oyster was individually battered and pan fried. Sooooo GOOD with the dipping sauce! I definitely will go back to try their other dishes!

We started coming here to eat when my Dad asked for Korean food. It's located in the Manoa Market Place. There is ample free parking and handicapped parking spots. The restaurant is located towards the backside of the center. Well lit. Bathroom is not inside the restaurant. The bathrooms are located upstairs in the building. There are stairs or an elevator to access. It's a husband/wife restaurant. They multitask. Hardworking individuals. If the restaurant is busy, you may need to wait a bit for your order. They also do a lot of takeout orders. A special tip is to order the house sauce to take home ($6.50). It's epic to use on tofu watercress salads, other dishes at home and homemade or store brought mandoo. Combo sets are reasonably priced and ban chan varies. All very tasty.

I always come to Mānoa marketplace regularly and always pass by this Korean restaurant during my time here. I've always wondered what's good here, but never tried until now.On a recent August 2023 Friday during lunch, I had the opportunity to come here because I had the day off and a friend of mine working nearby. Both of us had never tried this restaurant before so we decided to check things out. We arrived here around 1 PM, and we probably did beat the lunch rush for sure. There was maybe two tables that was occupied, and the rest of the restaurant wasn't. We got seated almost immediately and that was pretty awesome. It seems like this restaurant is practically a mom and pop store and it felt like eating a friend's house - at least the quality of the cooking seems to be this way. We spent about an hour here from start to finish. It is amazing to see that there are two different Korean restaurants in Mānoa marketplace, the other being Peppa's Korean BBQ near the Starbucks. It's pretty cool that they can coexist in the same area. The restaurant felt small but the ambiance was nice and quiet for the most part. Not sure if they had WiFi but we didn't need it during our stay. My friend noticed that they had QR codes for the menu and no physical menus. Quite cutting edge for a mom and pop. Or just a way to save money on not having to update menus every so often. With that said, I celebrated my friend's belated birthday here at O-Bok Korean restaurant. The price is here we're not terrible, but not great either. It's basically the same price you pay when you go to a Korean barbecue restaurant but when you dining is not in a takeout container.I ended up getting the bi bim kook soo, which was quite light, definitely delicious, and surprisingly as healthy as you can get, without the fried meats that comes with traditional Korean meat that's been barbecued for your enjoyment. The overall experience here at O-Bok Korean restaurant was very different vibe than any other Korean restaurant that I've been to, mainly because it was in a quiet area - manoa - and it was after the lunch rush, I guess. For the most part though, the experience was quite nice and the company was excellent. The restaurant was clean and quite spacious especially when it's run by a mom and pop. Or at least it seems that way. My friend and I pretty much beat the lunch rush at 1:00pm that day and it was lovely. Lovely company at a lovely restaurant in Manoa. What more can I say. Kind of reminds me of going to someone's home and having a home cooked meal without the frenzied hoopla of an everyday crunch of a work week, since I had the day off that holiday. Statehood day is always chill and happy that they are open for business. At the end of the meal, we got the check but waited around for the lady to pick up it up with our payment. After 10 minutes, we decided that we needed to take it up to the counter to get it paid. Some restaurants are like that. Either they come and swoop or you need to go to the cashier and pay. It's sometimes difficult to see this. It's fine though. My friend and I left the restaurant feeling full and happy that we tried out this place. I'm a regular at Manoa marketplace so I'll probably be back sooner or later to try to find other delicious dishes.O-Bok Korean restaurant is located near the Manoa Post Office in Manoa marketplace shopping center. Its physical address is Woodlawn Drive. They accept major credit cards as well as cash. As far as parking goes, you got a lot of spacious parking in and around the mall. Best bet would be to park near the restaurant for the best spot for easy access in and out. If you are like me, i believe that the only route that services Manoa valley is route 6, which stops both sides of E Manoa Road next to the Manoa Starbucks. With that said, if you love Korean cuisine and enjoy the traditional food and even Korean barbecue that's basically local kine comfort food in these Hawaiian islands, consider coming to O-Bok K

Surprisingly underwhelmed. Used to go there a lot especially since it's convenient, but prices been going up and food quality seemed to have gone down. Ordered out...- Tile Fish - I was introduced to this dish at another Korean restaurant and we love it. At O-bok it isn't crispy so you can't just eat the bones. And for the same price you get half the amount. - Seafood Pancake - I like their sauce, but pancake had only some scraps of ika. Lots of green onion though. - Tofu Soup for the hubs - he didn't complain but the container was just half full, and I think the same went for him.- Seaweed Soup - hardly any flavor. Just natural from the seaweed I guess. Most places have more taste and more than just 2 pieces of meat.- Kim Chee - completely lacked flavor. Was as though they just made it that day.- Potato - hubs like this. He said different, which he liked- Broccoli was my highlight. Broccoli should never be the highlight of a meal. For the price I paid, I am very disappointed. Hope they get their groove back.

Make sure if you're picking up to cal the restaurant directly instead of using the online ordering feature. You'll end up saving a lot The delivery companies take 25-30%.

We enjoyed tofu soup, Meat Jun and chicken bbq plate.Everyone has different palette so my opinion shouldn’t be for others but I found Banchan to be too salty.Nice clean space and good service otherwise.

Disappointed tonight! Took the ohana out to eat at O-bok in Manoa Marketplace, got there approximately 7:10 pm, establishment sign states closing at 8:00 pm.To our surprise, owner gave us the BIG X sign, " we close!"Very confused! Well, guess they don't want our business. Prior to our arrival, an ohana of 4 was told the same. Such a head scratcher!

Best korean restaurant in Manoa!!! I love their kimchi stew, it always hits the spot. Also love all of the sides that come with the main dishes. Definitely recommend trying their mandoo and bulgogi too

This place is a hidden gem! Real authentic Korean food! The best bulgogi and mandoo in my opinion. A must try!

Three of us stopped by on a Thursday afternoon on 12/15/22, around 2:30p to have a late lunch. Unfortunately, we weren't able to sit inside the restaurant since the host didn't have enough workers to man the tables. It was take-out only, for us on this day. Nonetheless, my order of the Combination plate C composed of Spicy Pork, Fish Jun, Man Doo, and Rice Noodles, and Kim Chee, Broccoli, and Potatoes were extremely tasty. The Spicy Pork was infused with the perfect blend of sweet, salty, flavoring with the right amount of spiciness. We sat outside, and enjoyed our Korean fare. My friend orderedCombination Plate B and had the BBQ chicken, Man Doo, and Meat Jun and she enjoyed her plate as well. My other friend had the Kim Chee Rice plate with an over easy egg and she said it was flavorful and the Kim Chee wasn't so spicy for her.All in all, we enjoyed our meals. I will definitely be back again to try their Bi Bim Ngun Min, their cold Buckwheat Noodle dish the next time I visit O-Bok Korean Restaurant.
