Oahu Mexican Grill (OMG)

Not a lot of burrito options, but all are clearly labeled vegan and tasty. Ask for no cheese, then you choose between two rice options Spanish or cilantro lime, then beans, either pinto or black beans. Your choice of meat will be roasted veggie. Then you can choose from several toppings and salsas. We really enjoyed our burritos! Updated from previous review on 2025-04-25

This place is fabulous!!!! Best breakfast and the toast is to die for!!!! The birria tacos were to die for and the chicken ones were even better. Great staff and gorgeous view of the ocean. Highly recommend!!!

Prices and portions are good, but food is not tasty.
Tables are not clean.

OMG Grill exceeded our expectations! We came here craving some good Mexican food and, despite seeing a few questionable reviews, we decided to give it a shot—and we’re so glad we did. From the moment we walked in, the service was warm, attentive, and genuinely friendly. The atmosphere was vibrant yet relaxed, with large windows offering a view of the fresh ingredients, which made everything feel clean and inviting.

We really appreciated the Chipotle-style ordering system—it’s fast, interactive, and gives you full control over how your meal is customized. It reminded us of the ease and comfort of dining back home. And the food? Absolutely amazing! Every bite was packed with flavor, and you can tell they use fresh, high-quality ingredients.

Sometimes reviews don’t tell the whole story, and in this case, we’re so glad we didn’t let a few unruly complaints sway us. OMG Grill nailed it on every front, and we’ll definitely be coming back for more. If you’re in the mood for great Mexican food paired with great service, this is the place to be! Side note- they employ people with learning disabilities which is amazing. 🌯🌮🫔

Love this location! Great view of the sunset. Their frozen margs are amazing and plenty of vegan options as it is choose your own style place.

Wheelchair accessibility: There are stairs to get inside and I did not see an alt route unless there was an elevator in the store below (OMG is on second floor)

Just ordered a chicken and steak bowls for dinner and WOW. So much salt on the food it was literally inedible. This is not the first time but this time I had to go online and warn people. The food tastes terrible!!!

Stopped in for a drink. They had a mojito on the cocktail menu, but when I ordered one, the bartender told me that she didn’t know how to make one. I ordered a margarita instead, which was nicely frozen, but tasted awful (like rotten limes). My canned coke was fine.😁 So then I went to use the bathroom. The instant I opened the door, the most intense smell of old urine punched me in the face! It took everything I had to quickly go and wash my hands. The faucet was already on, streaming water. But then, wouldn’t you know it, the soap dispenser was empty! There was a sign on the wall that said, “Please turn off water completely!” I rinsed my hands, but no matter what I did, I couldn’t get the faucet to shut off completely! The saddest part of this experience is that the lack of caring maintenance and all of those seemingly little annoyances added up to making me never want to return sometime to try their food! The fact is, if a restaurant OWNER doesn’t care enough to maintain a customer bathroom nor to truly ensure that their staff is adequately trained, then what makes anyone think they care enough about their kitchen and their food??? There are a HUGE number of well-maintained restaurants in Waikiki with both a view of the water and owners who truly care. DO NOT go to Oahu Mexican Grill until the owner gets a clue of how to properly run a restaurant, or sells to someone else who does!

It's in the Waikiki area. It is an awesome place for breakfast or lunch or dinner. Food quality is great and tasty. They have a large selection of food. The place is clean and the staff are friendly. Highly recommend it.
