Omakase by Aung was my favorite dining experience in my week in Oahu. Chef and staff were super welcoming and kind while prepping an amazing omakase set. Go here if you’re looking for delicious omakase with a more fun, modern style, and not stuffy at all.
Food - every course was so delicious. Freshly ground wasabi was light and perfectly portioned in each bite of nigiri, coming from a person who avoids wasabi typically but you can trust chef Aung to craft each bite! I loved trying different pieces that I don’t usually order, for example in our set we had two kinds of mackerel that were amazing. Usually my favorite is chu toro and while that was delicious, every course was as delicious if not more.
Pacing was wonderful - there were a few people late to the seating but chef caught them up to us while not delaying any courses - and the music really added to the vibe/experience as well. BYOB and they also help serve your drinks which was so nice. If you want, bring more to share (tequila is chefs fave)

Incredible omakase!! Selection of fish & the quality of the ingredients were out of this world. Great small crowd of guests too.
The A5 wagyu was sooo smooth. Loved also the play with citrus fruits. Love love love
Entrance has no sign so I added a pic

An absolutely phenomenal omakase experience! The selection of fish was top-tier, with an incredible variety of fresh, melt if your mouth cuts. Each piece was expertly prepared, perfectly balanced, and bursting with flavor. Aung's attention to detail and passion for the craft truly shined through. It wasn't just amazing fish but was super fun as well! I'll definitely come back next time I'm out here.

The best kept secret of Honolulu! This is a wonderful and fun omakase in a Hawaiian shirt.
This one room will be able to host up to 12 guests at the time in a simple decor.
Every single bite was well thought and worked on with care.
We had fun chitchatting with the guests during dinner, you also bring your own drinks (or what ever you fancy).
Enjoy every bite and enjoy!

Took my boyfriend to Omakase by Aung for his birthday and we were both blown away by the amazing food! Every item served to us was so fresh and flavorful. Hands down some of the best sushi we’ve ever had. We’ve had omakase before but this might be our new favorite place.
Aung and his staff were so friendly and welcoming as well. We felt like we were at a friend’s house for dinner. The rest of the guests in our time slot were also very friendly which just added to this 10/10 experience.
Since we came for my boyfriend’s birthday Aung made an extra, small dish and topped it with a candle for my boyfriend as well as another guest who was there for their birthday as well. Such a sweet gesture to make them feel extra special on their day. It was a wonderful experience and we highly recommend you give this place a try!

Had a great time! Made a reservation with my husband but had a lovely/lively group of people seated with us. Like that he was able to demonstrate his techniques to accompany the delicious food. Nice playlist. BYOB. Would def return if I'm back in Hawaii!

Excellent boutique omakase run by Aung.
Limited seating daily and a fun experience with Aung. Felt like a family establishment where you’re a valued customer. You connect with a few of the other guests as well, if you’re open to it.
Excellent fish choices and freshness. Uni was fresh, but my favorite was the ebi. The beginning soup was excellent with the clams and you left perfectly content and happy.
Aung has a lot of experience with sushi and everything was well balanced between the wasabi and home made soy sauce. No extra is needed.
Fun and wild times. Excellent music.
BYOB - including soda and tea.
Will go back.

Where do I even begin? This place completely exceeded our expectations. The staff is incredibly friendly, fun, and welcoming, which set the tone for an amazing evening. We went here for dinner the day we eloped, and it could not have been more perfect.
Every single bite was outstanding - fresh, flavourful, and unique. The atmosphere was so comfortable, it felt like the perfect place to celebrate our special day.
When they found out we had just gotten married, they went above and beyond by creating a special little extra dish for us on a heart-shaped plate. It was such a thoughtful and sweet gesture that made us feel truly celebrated. They even gave us shots and joined in the fun, which added to the experience. 😁
I cannot recommend this place enough! If you’re looking for unforgettable food and incredible hospitality, this is the spot.

What a blast.
The chef, the staff, and even the patrons we were with were absolutely amazing.
Each dish was well done and tasted just as good as it looked.
Chu-toro is always my favorite and they delivered! Although contending for its place is the King Salmon; a personal new one for me. Nevertheless, every piece is unique and enjoyable.
If you're looking for a good time - I highly recommend dining here... and that's not the tequila shots talking.

This is a very long overdue review but I wanted to write it because I had such a wonderful dining experience last year. My friends and I had a very memorable omakase experience with Aung in NYC a few years ago, so I was delightfully surprised to see that he had opened up a place in Hawaii while I was researching omakase places during my visit there. Every dish was amazing, the pacing was perfect, and I got to try a lot of new items that I had never experienced at other omakase places. I was doing happy food dances with every dish and I still remember my favorite which was the chutoro. If I ever win the lottery, I would fly to Hawaii every week to eat that chutoro. Aung also made a homemade icecream that was delicious and unique. If you are looking for a special omakase experience, check out Omakase by Aung.
