I wanted something quick to grab and go before our tour and found this place right around the corner of our hotel. It's a little mom and pops shop and it's a bit confusing because the sign above the shop says Sweet Home Cafe. When I got there around 8:30am a bunch of the onigiris were already sold out... I was able to get a few salmon, tuna and seaweed onigiris along with a spam/egg musubi. They were about $2-2.50 each which is pretty reasonable. They all tasted really fresh and not too salty. A good balance between the rice and filling. I wanted to grab some for my plane ride home but was disappointed to find out they were closed on the Saturday I was leaving... bummer

Delicious onigiri. It tastes super fresh and there is a large variety to choose from. You won't be disappointed!

Great lunch stop on a sunny day. Great sushi, bright fun shop, nice couple that run the place. Super tasty and very reasonable.

This is a gem! Go find it! We were kind of sad to discover it on our last day of our recent trip. If you're coming from Kuhio, it is behind a sort of ugly building that I think is going to be torn down because all businesses in it are gone. Don't be scared - go behind it, and discover Ookini Onigiri and their wonderful selection of onigiri (musubi, rice wrapped with seaweed containing different yummy ingredients like salmon, roe, fried chicken, pork, avocado, spam, egg, pickled plum - so much more!). We cannot wait to come back here again during our next trip! Very friendly service and in the evening, this business turns into a hot pot. I didn't get try the evening restaurant, but I'm sure impressed with Ookini Onigiri!

Walked by on the way to the beach and found this little gem. It is a made ready rice wrap in seaweed shop. There is probably over 40 types of wrap available to choose from. We picked up a couple spam ones and head out to the beach. They also have miso soup but we didn't want any. Friendly service and a lovely shop. If we live in the area, I bet my kids would happily return daily for after school snack.

Lots of musubi and onigiri variety. Although a little bit pricier than other musubi places. Will come back at happy hour when its 50 percent off :)

They have a lot of musubi variety. They're mutsubis are really tasty. Happy hours at 2-3pm when mutsubis are half off!

My husband and I wandered into this place walking towards Waikiki center. Such a cute little shop. They have a huge selection of onigiri, various rice dishes, and snack items to go. We came every day during our vacation so we could pick up something for our hikes. Their onigiri is delicious and tasty; they've really figured out the right balance of salt and savory! Our favorite was the spam and daikon, fried chicken and mustard greens, and salmon with spicy roe. The best part of this shop is the service. We met this nice Japanese lady who was so cheery and smiley. This is forever our go-to place for onigiri while in Waikiki! FYI: $5 minimum for credit card purchases.
