I think I got lucky at Panda Express today! For the first time ever, my fortune cookie came with no message inside, and it wasn’t even crispy, it bent like plastic lol. Still, I’ve got to say, the food was amazing as always, super affordable and delicious!

Panda Express has been a go-to spot for my family, and in the past, we’ve consistently received generous portions (typically 2–3 scoops) for entrées and sides. During my most recent visit, however, the portions were noticeably smaller—closer to half a scoop—which required me to purchase additional orange chicken on the side. I am not certain what the official portion standard is, but consistency is important for customer satisfaction. I also noticed that the ordering process felt a bit rushed. While I understand that employees often work quickly to keep things moving, there were only a couple of people in line, so the pace came across as hurried.

Every time I go to this location they always mess up my order. I work in the mall and went in today to get lunch, my plate had the wrong thing in it and when I went back to ask to fix it, they fixed it but forgot my sesame chicken that was already in the plate and i had to close my store again a third time( due to only being me at work all day long) only for them to give me an attitude saying that they gave it when i looked and it wasn’t in there. Looked at the plate and it seems like it’s a smaller portion that it should be

I’ve been a loyal customer of the Panda Express located in the Ala Moana food court for many years. It’s always been a reliable spot for generous portions and decent flavors, which made it a favorite of mine.
However, I was extremely disappointed during my recent visit. I ordered the Big Plate, which includes three entrée choices. What I received was shockingly small—especially the Asian Chicken, which was sliced into a portion smaller than the size of my palm. The two Orange Chicken options (regular and spicy) were no better. Each portion was no larger than a single scoop of Baskin-Robbins ice cream.
When I got home and checked the box, it was clear: the container was filled with rice on both sides, and the actual entrée portions were minimal—almost like side samples rather than full servings.
If the portion sizes are going to be this small, I would at least expect the food to be cooked with care or offer something special to justify the price. But it felt like the same food, just less of it, at the same price.
Panda Express used to represent abundance and flavor. Unfortunately, based on this recent experience, it no longer feels worth the visit

They were very busy but the line moved fast. They were friendly and efficient. The orange chicken was as expected, hot and flavorful. The kids meal was perfect for our Littles, coming with fruit and a drink. Easy to find in Ala Moana.
