A co-worker and I headed up to Maunakea Marketplace to pick up lunch from Mei Mei but it was unusually crowded so we ended up at Papa’s on the outside of the Marketplace, on Hotel Street. It’s a small space with four or five tables. We ordered Minute Chicken Cake Noodles and Seafood with Crispy Noodles. The restaurant was empty, so service was fast. My seafood plate contained a lot of seafood in a tasty sauce … too much sauce, as it drowned the noodles and softened them. However, it was very good and powered through and finished off my plate. My friend couldn’t finish his Minute Chicken … It was too much food for him.

We miss Canton House, just down the street, as it was our “go to” place for Chinese food. However, Papa’s is an adequate substitute … The menu is vast for such a tiny place, and we’ve always been able to find something to please our palate. The prices are reasonable and thus we can continue to give it a thumbs up recommendation.

Their noodle soup menu is one of the best in Honolulu. The secret is in their brooth. Quantity is generous, if not too generous. Customers can choose from two types of noodles, I prefer the thin noodle. This little establishment has a lot of takeout orders so you have to be somewhat patient but worth the wait. One of the posted outside photos along River Street is an incorrect insert as they are on Hotel Street at least a block from River Street.

I used to be a Foodie , I ate a lot of food from many places , If it’s not too bad I will never review negatively, The food actually tasted terrible. The rice, noodles, and vegetables were very hard. My teeth almost broke. It wasn't even cooked properly!! The food aren’t hot enough quite cold and hard, The restaurant was very hot and there was a smell of urine from the street, bad service too , not even pay attention at the customer

Great tasting food. We ordered the wonton noodle soup, laksa (with braised beef), and beef chow fun (with gravy). The noodles and soups were packed separately. The laksa was nice and spicy, and the beef cubes were incredibly tender! The chow fun was also very good, with tender thin slices of beef and the bell peppers were cooked perfectly. This is our second time ordering from this take out. So good!

I recently visited Papa’s Cafe, and I have to say, it was an excellent experience from start to finish. The food was fantastic—everything tasted fresh, well-seasoned, and had that perfect, homemade touch. I was also impressed by how quickly our meals were served; even though the place was busy, they managed to get our food out fast without compromising quality. We had the black pepper beef steak, spinach garlic, and butter garlic shrimp. If you’re looking for a spot with delicious food and quick service, I’d highly recommend Papa’s!

The service here sucks your energy dry. Went here for my first meal in Hawaii and the staff was extremely rude. They straight up ignore you if your non-Asian.

Typical Cantonese style Chinese restaurant. Their Cake Noodle is made earlier during the day so it may not be fresh and crispy as you would like.

Really good Chinese food. Service is fine. Small not much but some chairs. Maybe 16 people at most can fit inside.

This is my go to spot for food in Chinatown, especially since it is the very few places that sells Singapore laksa on the island. The restaurant has dine in or take out window at the Mauna Kea Market side and its basic, no fuss Chinatown style is what I love about it. The staff are nice and easy, but do expect slower service because they're usually very busy. There are a lot of options for you to choose from, the portions are very generous so I recommend that you share the entree. There are only 5 sets of dining tables on the store, you can also take it to go and eat at the picnic tables on the Mauna kea market. I usually have the seafood laksa ($14.99) and today I tried the butterfly pea lemonade which is refreshing on a hot day.
