Good prices but portion sizes are a little smaller than the old days. Probably a good thing for most people, but don't expect to go halfsies on breakfast. The build your own plate was larger portions. Had the rainbow royal cheeseburger and it was really yummy, great flavor and cooked just right. The fries were also cooked too perfection, crisp outsides, soft inner and not too salty. Simple fare but executed well. Got some nostalgia plates to go, shoyu chicken (not avaliable every day) and boneless chicken plate. This was at the Kalihi location, I hope the cooks at the other locations are as proficient
Wheelchair accessibility: There is a short step from the parking lot. They might open the street side door for a wheel chair but they might not

First time visiting this place. Fries was hot, crispy on the outside, soft on the inside! My favorite for the night. Royal burger was not bad. Loco moco and the Mac salad was a pretty letdown.
The food we got was really okay. Floor was small kine sticky. But what redeems this place for us has to be Ipo. Her sincere customer service, jolly attitude really made the difference. I personally observed when you meet a sincere person, you will know it. And she is truly one of those. We appreciate her service to us. Mahalo, Ipo!

Teriyaki steak plate lunch will always be my favorite at Rainbows hands down. This visit I ordered 3 boneless chicken plates with brown gravy all over. Sat down at home with two other friends and feasted on this tender tasty morsels of chicken on steamed rice nestled in tasty brown gravy. A direct one way ticket to nai nai (contented enough to take nap). If you know you know... but Rainbows Drive in with ample servings on plate lunches will make you feel happy inside
Parking: Parking lot is small behind restaurant and the establishment will only accept debit/credit cards for payment of food but worth the visit
I tried their Rainbow Royal burger. It was a good burger and their tater tots were good. Seems like the locals all got the plate meals which I'll have to try next time.
The burger was a double cheeseburger but not too big. It filled my craving for a burger. I definitely enjoyed the tots. They were hot right off the fryer.
Parking was a bit limited. They have some in the back of the store but it's shared, you'll have to find street parking near by.
All in all, I'll have to come back and try something else from the menu. The cheeseburger and tots were good and you can't go wrong with them.
I would have gotten the breakfast but I just missed the cut off time of 1030
