Rainbow’s End Snack Shop is a charming little stop near the Mānoa Falls trailhead—perfect for cooling off after a hike. The shave ice is a standout, especially the Blue Hawaii flavor, and the teriyaki burger and hot dogs are simple but satisfying. Prices are reasonable, and the service is friendly and fast. It’s not gourmet, but it hits the spot when you’re hungry and tired from the trail.
The shop also shares space with a small gift store and cultural museum, which adds a nice local touch. There’s shaded seating nearby and clean restrooms just around the corner. It’s a convenient, low-key place to recharge before heading back into town.

Wonderful experience and had a fantastic dole whip. In Hawaii for only one week, so I'm very grateful I was able to meet the owner who is one of the most delightful people! Please support this local business.

I purchased the Frito Pie. Just a small bowl
that helped refuel after a long hike. It was delicious.

Once on the trekking course, it will take about an hour round trip and there are no toilets or water sources, so we will prepare here. It's a gentle uphill climb, but it's a humid area, so if you sweat, be sure to buy plenty of water.
