The staff are very helpful @ nice. No atmosphere as there is not really any place
to dine in. Parking is tight as very narrow street. The fresh produce varies, but is from local farmers & fresh! This was the highlight and be sure to check out the freezers for more choices.
As far as the plate lunch itself?? I had the chicken & it was over cooked/dry; my friend had the peanut noodles with tofu & it was overcooked/dry. Good thing it’s very reasonable.

CRAZY good food. Like, sooo good. And all the vegetables and fruits are grown in Kalihi Valley and the rest of the ingredients come from other parts of Oahu/Hawaii. Locally sourced, prepared with aloha. Kokua Kalihi Valley (the non-profit that Roots Cafe is housed in) is a community-centered, wonderful, inspiring organization. Your patronage goes to support them and their mission. So the food you purchase feeds your body and your soul. Check it out. The marlin sandwich, eggplant coconut curry, and papaya smoothies are my favorite. You won't regret it.

If I could give six stars for only one place it would be here. Super reasonable rates for mostly local food. Crazy yummy and also a pretty wide selection of fresh produce. Stop by. You won't regret it.
