I'm happy we were able to have our lunch on the last day before they were closing. We found out that they would be closed for renovation until sometime in March. Lookimg forward to eating there again after they re-open/
I was disappointed that they did away with Wine Wednesday. We sat inside since the weather was bad outside and its rather noisy inside! My dinner was a little overdone but still tasty, my guest's was perfect. The server and management were so good about remedying my dinner but it wasn't necessary. Always good there. Gave it only 3 stars mainly because of the noise and no wine wednesday.
The receptionist took the time to find my reservation longer than expected and he told me that I chosen the outside seats but I didn't. Then another person explained to me that Open Table automatically chose the seats depending on availability. Those persons who I was talking to weren't nice, unkind attitude. I love the restaurant since they're open. Their food and service are usually great but not this time unfortunately.
We really enjoyed our evening there. The food was excellent and the service was great. The patio is a relaxing setting. We will be back next year.
The miso salmon entree was tasty and not overly salty. My guest's juicy hamburger sandwich was cooked to perfection and juicy. Our waiter was excellent! Friendly and attentive, he was perfection! Didn't realize the restaurant will soon be closed for renovation. I will return!
Mandy, our waitress, was excellent, very attentive. Although we didn't order much ( we had a late lunch) she was very pleasant. This time, my favorite dish, Roasted Brussels Sprouts was perfect! Will definitely go again. Sorry, didn't take any pictures.
I was ‘ono' for a Ruscello's Burger and enjoyed the Burger and all the accompaniments very much! Service was great! Mandy was my server and she provided the great service! Also, Raven seated me and was welcoming which I appreciated! Looking forward to my next visit to Ruscello ...
This is probably the most pretentious place in Oahu. Online reservations are booked through night but inside more than half tables are empty. Tables sit for more than 20 minutes without being cleaned. Food is average and staff is below average. I would not recommend. There are far better places to eat

The service and the food are always top notch. It's a contemporary eatery so it's noisy. They pipe in a drum beat which keeps the tempo moving. I assume it is designed to keep people eating at a pace. You definitely won't fall asleep, the drumbeat never changes. Not sure it's that helpful but since it's not really music it's hard to like. I think it shaved off some of my stars. The staff is truly amiable and they obviously have an organized kitchen. You don't wait for anything. It's a good plate of food and it's worth it so we are regulars.
Been here a handful of times. Food is always good! Love the quality and taste of everything Ive had here. Drinks are just as yummy! Service is always friendly and attentive the moment you arrive.

The overall experience was not great but not really bad either. The food ( both my friend and I had the burger) was pretty tasty but the service left something to be desired. I ordered coffee which was tepid. I asked for no aioli on my burger and it came with aioli and the fries were cold. Our waitperson did not come back to check on us so I had to flag down someone else who took the burger back. Although our original waitperson passed by several times he never asked why I didn't have my meal although it had been served some time ago. I don't know if he ever realized that he failed to tell the food preparers to leave out the aioli or alternatively that the food preparers made the mistake. When it came back, everything was fine. The fries were warmer and the burger did not have aioli on it. I ordered it medium rare but both times it was medium. That didn't bother me, though, because the burger was good and was not dry. I like the atmosphere of the restaurant and the noise level was good. My friend and I had no trouble conversing. It's been a long time since I've dined at Ruscello. Several of my past visits had similar problems with service. I was hoping things had improved, but it seems not.
Our service from one of the waitress was great, very helpful and accommodating.
The food was just okay. Not much selection with pastas which is disappointing honestly. The lobster bisque was so salty. Only thing was worth getting was the garlic ciabatta for $4.50 lol. The pasta and pizza look colorful and delicious but once you have a bite it’s all bland. Their signature cocktails was pretty good but definitely on the pricey side.
The view outside was nice especially during sunset because you get both city and ocean views.
All in all, this restaurant was alright. It’s not what I expected coming from the great reviews I saw on here and social media.

Had our first visit here today, and it couldn’t have gone better. Aaron was our server, and he absolutely crushed it. He checked on us at the right times, kept everything moving, and made sure we were taken care of the whole way through. You don’t always get service that dialed-in, especially on a first visit. The food was great, the place was comfortable, and Aaron made the whole experience even better. We’ll definitely be back.

Tran was our waitress and she was lovely as always. Our food for our date night was so yummy! And we got to sit at a window table that I had requested and got to watch a beautiful sunset. Ruscello's is my favorite place to dine. It has become my comfort place where I always know will leave with a full tummy and heart. 🥹🙏🏻❣️
We’ve dined at Ruscello several times on past trips to Oahu and it’s always been one of our favorite spots — great food and friendly service. This visit, though, wasn’t quite up to the usual standard.
We sat at the bar since there was a 30-minute wait. The bartender was friendly, and the lobster bisque was absolutely delicious — rich, flavorful, and served piping hot. The wine was nicely chilled and the beer perfectly frosty.
We mentioned to the bartender that we’d be sharing a burger and asked if it could be cut. When it arrived uncut, the food runner explained the kitchen wouldn’t do it but kindly offered to find us a knife. We ended up cutting it ourselves, but it fell apart in the process and turned out a bit messy. The fries were soggy, and the burger itself was a little lacking in flavor.
We also didn’t receive utensils or napkins until a waiter noticed us reaching for the small cocktail napkins at the bar.
Hopefully this was just an off day — Ruscello has always been a highlight of our visits to Honolulu, and we’re looking forward to giving it another try next time.
