Really solid food and drinks, with friendly service and a super lovely atmosphere by the pool.
The restaurant is a little hidden behind the hotel but you ARE in the right place if you followed the pathway past the little Sam's Kitchen truck display.
Sadly they ran out of poke, which was the reason I had gone, but the steak was still really good. The spicy garlic shrimp was the highlight, but we also enjoyed the steak and the veggies.
Interesting way to order and recieve the food
Portions were good for the price.
We have eaten here back in 2023 and again recently. I had the garlic shrimp and it was good. The rest of my family had something different. They wanted the steak, but the restaurant was out of the steak already.
We did notice the portions of the rice and potato salad was noticeably smaller portions compared to the time in 2023 and their prices have gone up as well, so maybe it’s due to inflation. I didn’t feel full after eating dinner. Im not a big person either. They could have been a bit more generous with rice and potato salad because I didn’t think it was worth the price otherwise.
It was quite busy so they seem to have decent business which is good. I always like to see businesses do well. I would probably still eat here again but only once during our stay. I do like their potato salad and I’m not usually a big fan of potato salad.
Service took a while, we had to go up ourselves to get the servers attention after we were seated for a while. The fries were just store bought waffle cuts and the spring rolls were from the frozen section too. Not worth the price. We had a pretty flavorless piña colada as well.
food is tasty and affordable in Waikiki
Let's just start off by saying I travel for work and have tried alot of food across all the states.
Now to the service, it's was later at night and they were not very busy at all. At first everything seemed normal and people were friendly but after getting our order taken it became the worst service I have ever had as were we not helped or seen to for over an hour, if not more time. Then after we were finally seen too ( clearly finished as in no more food and no more drinks at all) he took our plates and I had to flag him down to pay.
As for the atmosphere it's just kinda awkward as youre behind a hotel and being sat around there pool area where the guests swimming.
Now for the food, the portions are very small and for that reason are well over priced. I got the steak and rice costing $21. There was absolutely no real flavor to it and the steak was kinda tough. Despite that I was finished with 7 bites of steak and child size portion of rice before my friends food even arrived. My advice is to just go eat somewhere else the experience is worth it nor is the food.
This was absolutely the worst service and food I've had. The spicy garlic and the Fry's were the best part of my meal and even that wasn't great. The BBQ place in the Walmart was by far a better option to eat at. I absolutely would not recommend it. The food was extremely overpriced for the very small portion size, I dont know if they are rationing or what but it was just terrible.
Service was outstanding and the food came out fast. Outstanding shrimp, possibly the best shrimp I've ever had! If you're visiting Waikiki, definitely try this place out.
We really enjoyed the spicy garlic tofu with rice and spring rolls. However what makes this place exceptional is the hospitality here. Everyone was super nice and they also compensated a dish because it arrived late! Overall great experience
We had heard great things about the Hawaiian hospitality but Sam's Kitchen literally showed us how they go above and beyond!! And on our very first day here!!
Absolutely love the place, the people, the vibe and the food. All of that at a reasonable price too!
Highly recommended!

The spicy shrimp meal was great! Did it live up to the claim of 'da Best shrimp on planet Earth' ? I'll let you decide but I left satisfied.
They are okay, worth to try though.
The steak is way better than the chicken.
I had a disappointing experience. Came and ordered around 840p, when it wasn’t so busy, and waited for 35-40 minutes just to be served the wrong order. I had to follow up and he said that the machines weren’t working to send the orders to the back for preparation, so it felt like I was waiting for no purpose. When my order came out finally, I did not get the rice plate I ordered so I had to wait some more. The rice came out undercooked.
It looks like this may be a new location, but pretty sure it's the same place. Amazing spicy garlic shrimp. It's made when you order so service can be on the slow side, but it was definitely worth the ~15 minute wait. (So plan for it or order ahead for pickup.)
The spicy garlic shrimp wasn't atomic, or anything, but it's solidly spicy. My only regret was that it was so good, but I wish I had gotten the regular garlic shrimp so my wife could try it. She ended up picking something else in the double food court area, but she would have been kicking herself after seeing how good this was.
Definitely small business, locally owned, and just focused on putting out great food. I'm making it a point to come back any time I'm in Waikiki, and if it moves again, it'll be worth hunting it down wherever it goes.
This place was excellent and had great prices. Donny Roxx was a fun bartender. We ate 4 times here during our trip! We are looking forward to going back next year!
