Today 4-5-24 I went for the chocolate malt and they had peanut butter so I got mixed. I also ordered two small popcorn with butter and extra butter and one was furikake and mochi crunch extra butter and boy it was great the food. The service is awesome the young lady working the counter is so relaxed and helpful and fast . The ambience is great outside you walk up ring the bell for service and boom everything is great after that here comes the goodies. They also sell drop down freezers of to go marshmallow bars in different varieties giant cookies, and different varieties the six pack of different flavors single packs they have lunch drink hotdogs, popcorn. You can't go wrong if you haven't come you really are missing out.

I phoned on Kuhio Day, and just the sweetest young woman answered and was so smart and helpful, so I swung by and bought a twist even though they didn't have the flavor I was craving. The twist I chose was yuzu and orange. I don't think I'd order it again because I felt that even though it had just the right amount of sweet, there was much yuzu or orange flavor. I loved the crispy complimentary oreo wafer on top, tho! The small cup lasted through traffic all the way back to my home near Kaimuki! Oh... and the sweet young woman was just as sweet and smart in person. Good help is hard to find, and Samurai really got lucky with this gal! My 5 stars are mainly for her. There's no outside seating anymore...sad and they have to lock their outside freezer... sigh....

Tucked away on Umi Street, this place is a gem! The sorbet is scrumptious! The gigantic Oreo cookie made for an extra special treat. My favorite is the lihing sorbet topped with extra lihing powder. I am salivating as I write this review. There are daily flavors, as well as additional pint size flavors and various sorbet in the refrigerator/freezer in front to choose from. Hot dogs and popcorn also. A plethora of desserts available for even the pickiest taste buds. Parking on site and on the street. Area is clean. Security cameras throughout. I will return to Samurai. Support local businesses, folks.

Big mahalos to the staff! It was a difficult week but all of that changed after a friendly gesture from one of the staff who recommended their new chili dog and let me sample the li hing mui sorbet. The toasted bun added with chili, cheese, and onions was ono! The perfect add on to an already tasty hot dog. I also had the pineapple sorbet that was refreshing and the take home li hing mui sorbet made me remember how I like coming here on Saturdays. Keep it up Samurai, Chee!

What a cool place... The amount of time spent at New City Nissan you think I'd be here more often lol! Hidden down Umi Street which is right beside the dealership just past the storage place is this sweet place and yes parking is impossible in this area but they do have two stalls right beside the shop. Luckily I did manage to grab a stall and check out what they have to offer today as the flavors are posted clearly and ordering is easy first you choose a flavor, then the style (soft serve, shake, float or parfait) and third any toppings which all are additional. It was a Strawberry float and they have Coke or Sprite as the soda so it was Sprite and what they do is fill the cup with the soft serve and top it with soda and was surprised they gave me the rest of the can...no straw...no spoon!? Unlike before no seating as well so I stood there looking around with a cup and a soda can...hmmm! I didn't make the greatest choice it was okay and should've kept it simple and sadly it all went to waste and just a note if you're unsure you can sample any flavor which I encourage you to do so but I did grab a couple bags of popcorn in the fun color that's representing the Super Bowl teams (SF/KC) lol! Fun treats are definitely found here besides the usual like the Crispy Bar is new to me and with treats like these is always a party here. Thank you!

The texture and flavor is if shave ice, ice cream, and gelato had a baby. It's sweet and syrupy but also creamy and icy. The strawberry vanilla swirl is their classic and it is chef's kiss. They offer unique flavors like lychee, mango, and honeydew melon. It's a Hawaiian treat you can't miss.

Hands down fav ice cream shaved ice hybrid treat during our visit back home. A definite stop on our list of places to go when visiting back home in Hawaii. Great price, tastes amazing (yes much better than those cups you buy at stores) only down side is no real parking other than 2 stalls and the street it's on is very busy. Never really any open stalls when we go.If your looking for a yummy sweet treat, after the beach. Definitely a place to check out. Oh and they have good popcorn I'm told but never tried myself. I go there just for the ice cream.

Samurai Ice Cream is a childhood favorite that cools down even the hottest of days. They have an assortment of products outside and they offer the classic Blue Vanilla and Strawberry soft serve.

After I heard the Samurai in Aiea closed down, I was determined to make it to the one remaining location open on the island, by Dillingham. I made a special trip out here with my son to get some of their treats.Parking is only two stalls, or some on the street, if you're lucky. The place is locked down, literally, so you have to press a buzzer. There were security cameras all around, so we stood around a few minutes waving at the camera and trying to smile and not look like crazy people. There were also locks on the outdoor freezers, and good for them, because there's a lot of thieves and scary people just helping themselves to whatever they can nowdays! I wish I wrote this review sooner because I don't remember how much we paid for our Hawaiian Frost in cups. I believe it may have been $4 each. Son got the Mint Chocolate and I got the Strawberry Vanilla. Both our frosties had giant oreo cookies on them as garnish...totally loved it!!!I grew up with these flavors and I wanted my son to try them too. I was alarmed that one of the stores permanently closed down so I wanted to make a trip out here to enjoy their treats and to support their business.RETURN FACTOR: totally will return, too bad they are not closer! Next time if we have mainland guests and friends will take them here as one of the stops near Bishop Museum.
