It’s one of the best shave ice places on the island. The ice is soft and they have so many flavors, stuffings, and toppings to choose from. The staff are friendly and it’s decently priced. Parking can be tricky, but you can always park at Foodland and walk down. This place is a must if you want real Hawaiian shave ice.

Friendly family business. Not the best on Oahu but the portions are the largest. Keiki size is large enough for the majority of people. Street parking only. Waiola Shave Ice still has the finest shavings.

This is a little shop recommended by my family that lives in Hawaii. I can see why this is their favorite spot. Not as crowded as other shave ice places and just as good.

This is my son's favorite shave ice spot. He always wants to come here. It's a bit of a challenge, since they don't have parking. You just have to chance it with street parking. I can see why he likes this place. They have a lot of different syrups that you can choose from. The ice is shaven down like snow. It's smooth, airy and light. I know he tries different flavors all the time, but he likes lychee and cotton candy.

Shimazu Store is a small family business known for their shaved ice and small goodies!!You can order straight from the window with variety of flavors and add one (vanilla ice cream, mochi pieces, red azuki beans, condensed milk, etc.)There is also very limited street parking. They have two sizes: Keiki (kid) and Small. FYI, the small size is a huge portion.

Our search for good shaved ice leads us here. Before the pandemic, you could walk into the narrow small store. Now, it's blocked off, and you order outside behind a plexiglass. This was the first place that I saw the shaved ice come out with a vibrant plastic cone holder. How fun!So, seeing as this was my 3rd shaved ice place, I wanted to try some different flavors. Most of you will be grossed out because these flavors do not go together, but I had tried the fruity flavors at the other stores. I got mine with root beer and melon bar melon as these were unique flavors I only saw here.Great feathery and finely powdered shaved ice. The handcrafted syrups really stood out. The root beer was rich and sweet. The melon bar was light and fruity. They tasted great separately, but in the end, when it all blended together, it was funky. LOL. I recommend the ice cream and azuki beans. The shaved ice is tall. My wife and I got in the car, and she said, "What happened to your shaved ice!?!" I looked and said, "What are you talking about?" Apparently, I knocked half of it off in the car with my seat belt. D'oh! Good thing it's a rental.Parking can be challenging! There is only street parking on this narrow and busy street. I had to circle a couple of times around the block before I found a space.

I visited the Shimazu Store on a Sunday afternoon, and there was no line. Finding street parking was easy too. My choice for the day was the halo halo, and it was so refreshing on a hot and humid day. The price point for the halo halo, is at $8.75 with ube ice cream which I believe is reasonable.

Yum!8 years later, it's still yum! Just had red velvet cream and coconut mixed.
