First time trying this place. I ordered the plov and it was yummy and tasty. I would go again.

Inside it's almost more mom-and-pop store than cafe because you'll find some cool shopping if you're looking for authentic and unique flavors or foods. I'm not well-versed to say if everything on offer is Uzbek but you'll find some interesting things here - from chips and drinks to caviar (yes, really).

It was so nice to be able to get comfort food from Uzbekistan/Russia/Ukraine. The Pelmeni was great and borscht was very nice. We also picked up some traditional cookies and chocolates as well. The owners are very nice people. We'll be heading back soon!

Dumpling soup. Dumpling soup. Oh, did I mention the dumpling soup? I had other things but the dumpling soup had be near tears wondering what I had done to deserve such a blessing in my life. The service is super nice and friendly at this cafe so well hidden if you took one step in either direction you'd have missed it completely. Street parking downtown is a miracle so we parked at municipal parking on King and walked the block over. Anyway, they sell out quickly so best to beat the lunch crowd to get your pick of the menu which is all served with an absolutely delicious bread roll of sorts that must use fairy dust because it's enchanting. EVERYTHING is good, but nothing beats take-out of dumpling soup later on in the evening while enjoying the cool breeze and contemplating the joys of being alive and the blessing of Uzbek dining.

+ The Pelmeni had many dumplings in it and went great with the bread it comes with. + They have tables inside and out in the halfway. - Parking can be a pain. I lucked out with a spot in lot by the Post Office on a weekday during lunch hour. - They gave us the wrong order at first, so we had to wait a little longer.

Please read my recent update below :) 5/8/19 PLEASE CHECK YOUR FOOD BEFORE LEAVING! I just ordered a beef kabob since it's the special on Wednesdays.. Which was $12-13 plate. I went back to my office 3 blocks away and opened the plate in my office and noticed I completely got the wrong plate! I got a $9 plate with pasta I'm assuming it's lagmon? Spelling could be wrong. I already used half of my lunch time so I was not gonna walk down to them. I decided to eat the entire plate (I'm not gonna waste food, I've been taught better than that) I called the place back and explained the issue and the employee just said sorry for the inconvenience and thanks for letting them know. No invitation of coming back there for some type of reimbursement. NOTHING AT ALL. This also happened to my co worker months ago but it was the yogurt sauce they forgot to put on for the beef kabob plate.. so PLEASE REMEMBER TO CHECK YOUR PLATE BEFORE LEAVING. Yes, from now on I'll check my food when I return to this place but I don't think I'll return any time soon.. it really sucked to know someone else was having my lunch... when I waited so long to get this plate I've been craving! Always check! It could save your feelings on what you thought was going to be a satisfying lunch. Overall the place and food is great no compliant there. UPDATE: 6/5/19 I finally got the time to visit from my busy schedule! As I walked in I actually found the manager in the sitting area and addressed the issue and showed her the yelp review via my phone. She gladly brought me to the cashier and informed her staff 1 order of beef kabob with no charge. She was very apologetic and friendly. Changing my rate to 2 stars to 5 stars!! I love the Wednesday special and advise you to TRY IT OUT! I will most definitely be coming back when I'll be craving some Uzbek foods! Thank you again SilkRoad appreciate it so much!

Yum yum yum! First off, an Uzbek place in Honolulu? I never would've guessed it existed. But boy am I happy I tried it! On our recent visit to Oahu we found ourselves in the neighborhood after checking out Iolani Palace a block away. We were getting a big hangry so after a quick Yelp search I suggested we try a new cuisine nearby. We were taken in by the modest curbside appearance of the restaurant, which has a few tables inside, a quick ordering counter and kitchen right behind it. There are also a few Uzbek groceries available, including snacks, meats, and desserts. We settled on a Plov plate, Lamb Kebab plate plus an extra skewer, Roasted Vegetables plate, Beef Piroshki, and Honey Cake to share between the four of us. It was just the right quantity and downright scrumptious. My favorites were the meat dishes - the seasoning was amazing. The plates come with a good quantity of food - meat over rice, a side of carrots and salad and a (delicious) piece of bread. We heartily enjoyed our meal and moved on to the equally tasty shared piroshki (it's a bit like a donut with mince meat inside). To finish off, we divided a piece of the citrus flavored honey cake. What a great meal. Everyone at Silk Road was very friendly and helpful with figuring out what to order from their great menu. I'm not sure if I'll find myself in Honolulu again any time soon, but if I do, you'll know where to find me. I'm already looking up Uzbek places back in my hometown!

Hi everyone's This is the worst restaurant I ever Taste ! And in the Honolulu magazine It said it was a store not even a store There got some little bit stuff to sell And to buy lunch plate or the soup The soup. was so junk I guess there heat up the soup but it takes like watery soup . And dumplings was hard as a rock .I wouldn't recommend this to anyone or either to family and friends. And the prices is kinda of higher
