I've cooked for 30yrs in all types of restaurants, so I don't go out to eat places often because I know I'm picky. But when I do go eat somewhere I never get treated like I was at Skybox Taphouse. Met my friend at Irish Rose while he was watching Ohio st vs Norte Dame. His nephew was at the game. He says he's hungry, and where would I suggest? Walking along Kalakau, I look up and see the game on a screen at Skybox. The sign says "Happy Hour 3-6". At 5:47 HST I tell my homie that we can get up there before 6. I ordered wings from a server on her first day who barely spoke English, but with chopped up linguistics, she got our order in right at 5:59. Great job Catalina. However, they were out of wings, so the closest other option were tenders. I tell her "that's fine." I ask her can they replace the veggies from the wings to a small handful of fries? She did not understand completely, and neither her trainer or manager came to her aid. She brought my friend's food, and right after, brought a big plate of cold soggy fries with parm, garlic and truffle oil. No tenders. I nibbled on the fries waiting on the order. Her trainer came over and asked "How is everything?" I told her we was still waiting on the chicken. She rushes off, and I wait again. They come out, and it's like they were fried stuck together because the top one had a white circle on what supposed to be a "golden brown" tender. I see the manager, and express to him my whole ordeal about not getting what I wanted to order "wings with honey Sriracha" and watch my friends nephew's team win the championship and even watch videos from the sideline while the whole bar was celebrating their win. It was a great moment my friend will always cherish with his nephew. But instead of enjoying that moment with him, I was yelled at by the manager because I did want to pay for some rushed tenders that probably was raw inside, or some cold fries that totaled $3 more than the original wings I wanted. Manager says to me and my friend that we're trying to get free food. Loudly in front of all the celebrating Ohio State fans to two black men on MLK day. The audacity of him thinking I would need to steal to eat. And chicken tenders at that. So yeah, in natural 'K' fashion, I cussed him the phuk out. Then all of sudden he's playing victim after insulting, and embarrassing me. Now I'm the angry black man having the dogs "security" called on us when I calmly asked him to have a seat and lower his voice. My friend still paid his bill, and even paid for the fries. I wasn't going to pay for neither the tenders I sent back or those horrible "specialty fries" they sent me by mistake. But they added those fries to his bill instead. I did tip my server because she did do her job, and my bad experience was not her doing. But if there was ever a moment I wanted to go all Waffle House on a manager it was this time. Mid way through this I see a customer get seated with menus, and leave because nobody came to take his order. He got up and left. And if it wasn't for his nephew winning, and us toasting to the champions at OSU, I definitely would've told him to walk out, but in doing the right thing, you gotta accept harder storms like withholding your own volcanic eruption while in Hawai'i. I'm sure they'll be alright without my patronage, but none of my people should go in there. "They not like us", and they don't like US."

While it’s a pleasant establishment, keep an eye on your tab. We had a group of ten requesting separate checks. There were duplicate charges, billing multiple people for the same thing & not applying payments correctly. What started as a great New Year’s Eve & anniversary night out had a very sour ending.

We ordered a burger ($22), french dip ($23), blonde ($7), and an ale ($10) = $62. I left 20% tip. Credit card hit with a charge of $97.93. Someone there is slipping additional charges on to tabs. We had zero modifiers on the order. WARNING: check your receipts carefully. My bad for being in a hurry.

What crap. Had apps to include nachos. They gave us paper plates with plastic silverware. Think KFC spork quality. Think single paper plate not double. Try sharing nachos like that. Food was all frozen from bag and nothing fresh. Wings were still half frozen. Asked server for another drink. 10 minutes later waiter shows says want another beer? I said already told server and waiting. Was told "only I can take order" only reason place stays open is because constant tourist churn I assume. Stay away.

Great view and location. Food was the worst ive had in a long time. Im talking sub Dennys quality stuff. Service is average with nice and friendly staff. Paper plates and plastic cups was the first sign that this was not what was expected.

The staff were friendly, but the counter appeared sticky and unclean. We ordered the combo platter, along with water and a piña colada. Unfortunately, a few hours after our visit, both of us experienced severe food poisoning, including diarrhea and vomiting. This was the only food we had that day, so it’s clear the issue came from the platter. Additionally, I noticed an employee cutting fruit with one gloved hand while touching it with their bare hand, which is unacceptable. I will not be returning to this establishment.

A wonderful shop that truly symbolizes American culture. An American football game was being shown inside the store, and I, as a Japanese person, got excited when I saw the people cheering. The beer is delicious and the chicken is great! I was very happy to be able to drink cheap alcohol during happy hour!

They were out of a bunch of things for drinks which is why we came here. Good sports bar, lots of TVs, good seating.

Cool place. Upstairs so be ready for escalators. The poppers are good, get it with blue cheese. No problem coming back. Scotty and Anrea are great.
