Halmoni wanted to take her friends out for Korean so I recommended our favorite, So Gong Dong. Big mistake. BF and I have been going there since the old location and hit the new location at least once a month. We've always had great food and service but not today. Male server could not have been more rude or curt to the aunties. Thumbs in bowls of ban chan he served, no water refills of clearly low glasses, and a short "no tea" when asked. Food was disappointing too. Tubu gigae ordered white was almost clear and had no flavor. Seafood pancake was very doughy and chop chae bland. So, so disappointed. We have always enjoyed going there and recommend it to others, but today was a bust for the aunties and the restaurant. Next time Halmoni wants to take her friends out we're going someplace else.

It's not authentic Korean restaurant. Tofu soup has some weird taste, almost like not Korean spice but Chinese. Very strange taste. Waitress was coughing serving our table

Short and sweet here... been here a few years ago and the food and service was better, say 4 stars. Brought my family of three in for a Sunday lunch. First, the male and female servers, who may have been the owners, have no sense of providing at the minimum decent customer service. No smiling face, no pleasant greeting in a nice tone of voice, etc. it was as if we were being served by robots who really don't care about you. Food was average in quality and taste. Take my advice, walk a few feet in a Diamond Head direction and go eat at Sorobol. The waitresses are a bunch of semi-rude food servers with no public relations skills, but the food quality and taste is easily a 4-5 stars depending on what you eat. Trust me or go ahead and waste your money.

Classic soon tofu, highly recommended. Nostalgic for this spot since I grew up eating it when it was still in LA/Koreatown. Honestly, nostalgic value was 5/5 but the actual soon tofu 4/5. I did go right before close so maybe that had something to do with it. Classic!

One of the best Korean restaurants in town. They have been in business for many years and had moved a few times due to new condos. The quality and consistency of the food are always there. They are known for their tofu soup and the kalbi is seasoned and cooked in perfection.
Food is good. But the service is not as good ??Plus, they don't want to give you hot water or Hot tea , either.They said they don't want to do the work.These people don't want you to enjoy the food by eating slowly.Due to they are very small place.When I got there around 5pm.Only 3 customers.This is my first and will be the last time coming here.Parking: Hard to find parking.
I went there on the recommendation of my Uber driver and it was delicious!The side dishes are fresh and the soft tofu is spicy.I was worried because there were a lot of reviews saying it wasn't friendly.In fact, it's friendlier than regular Korean restaurants.It's just busy because there are a lot of customers, so I hope you don't misunderstand.
