My favorite meal during my trip was at Southern Love, and I do not say that lightly. The food is clearly made with Love, as the title implies. It might seem off beat to get Southern food in Hawaii, but you would be remiss to not eat at least one meal at Southern Love. The authentic southern cooking (again, done with love) does take time, so prepare for a little (but not unreasonable) wait for your delicious meal! While you wait for the food (that will blow your socks off!) you can enjoy the ambiance of an at home experience that matches perfectly with the best local dining in the South.
We were lucky enough to have the special chicken sandwich, coated in fried honey crust with perfect tints of spice, with friggin' Mac 'N Cheese on top!! This sandwich slayed!! I saw it, thought no way I could finish it...and then couldn't stop myself from leaving the plate spotless!
In short, thank you Southern Love for an amazing meal and experience! All of the stars for the perfect Southern Love mix with lovin' Hawaiian feels!!

My husband and I visited here last week on the last day of our honeymoon. We both are from the south and wanted to try some good soul food. This place didn't disappoint. The catfish and greens were delicious! The vibe and music was on point. Felt like a little piece of home. The owner was very nice. I would highly recommend.

Usually, I like to take photos of my food so that others can see how good it looks, but in the case of Southern Love, I was so taken by the service that I scarfed everything down before a photo could be taken. Having grown up in the south, but not having lived there for some years, this meal was like a Ratatouille moment where I was transported back to the food of my childhood.

Just moved here and was looking for something different. Drove 30 mins to try this place out. Boyyyy it did not disappoint! Food was hot and flavored! Ribs were finger licking good, Mac and cheese was perfectly cheesy, catfish was well seasoned. Asked for an Arnold Palmer and it was a refreshing split:) Who knew I had to come all the way to Hawaii to find fantastic southern food! Love from Virginia! Definitely found my spot. <3

We're visiting from South Carolina and Florida. If you want a home cooked southern breakfast this is your place. Bisquits and gravy were close too the best we've had. Grits were perfect. And grits in Hawaii!!! Corey Love, owner and chef and our server, is an amazing person who makes you feel welcome. Thanks for making our very critical father a happy person, best breakfast he had in Oahu!

The food was seasoned well everything I ordered was pretty good! The portion sizes however were disappointing considering the price. I ordered this food on DoorDash for a birthday celebration and though we have no complaints about the food, we 100% expected more for our money.

Amazing food and even better service! My husband and I catered Southern Love for our son’s first birthday. The food was spectacular. Everyone loved it and was asking for more. Thank you so much to Corey and Elizabeth! We had a few unexpected changes and Elizabeth was able to help us make the changes. We are so pleased, and we will definitely be visiting this restaurant again in the future. Highly recommend!

This place did NOT disappoint!!! Fast friendly service. We came party of four & let's say once the food arrived no one talked good good good. I had Catfish & shrimp with greens I asked for my fish and shrimp to be crispy. ? Cornbread was excellent. My group is pretty picky and we all loved it. Chef & his wife were pleasant. They even allowed us to use there dominoes to play a game while we waited. Oh & did I mention black owned!!
