My favorite meal during my trip was at Southern Love, and I do not say that lightly. The food is clearly made with Love, as the title implies. It might seem off beat to get Southern food in Hawaii, but you would be remiss to not eat at least one meal at Southern Love. The authentic southern cooking (again, done with love) does take time, so prepare for a little (but not unreasonable) wait for your delicious meal! This place will surprise you! The area and outside is a little rough. Inside, the food and atmosphere is perfect. The owner is great and will make you a great breakfast while having a conversation with you.
My husband and I visited here last week on the last day of our honeymoon. We both are from the south and wanted to try some good soul food. This place didn't disappoint. The catfish and greens were delicious! The vibe and music was on point. Felt like a little piece of home. The owner was very nice. I would highly recommend.
