My dad use to bring us here when we were younger. So when my bf said he wanted Israeli food from Shaloha across the street, I decided to come here instead.
Idk if the aunty behind the counter was having a bad day or what but she was incredibly rude. There’s 2 windows and the uncle in front of me asked “is this window taking phone orders?” And she sassily responded back “I’m taking whatever orders!” After I finished placing my order with her my bf texted saying he wanted a drink. I asked her if I could add on a drink. She blinked and didn’t respond. I assumed she didn’t hear me so I asked again if I could add on a drink. She frantically waved her hands in the air and said “ya what?!” After she took my payment she said she’d call my order out when it was ready. Again, there’s 2 windows and people waiting around the area. I heard 1 item from my order being called but the aunty from the other window was also handing out food so I thought she had called it out. As I walked closer to the register, she bends down to eye level, sassily and loudly repeats my order and points at it all while giving me stink eye.
The food was good but after the service I experienced, it’s not worth it to come back.

First time eating here and close to UH campus. No line when I got there.
I got the Japanese deluxe plate, I liked it. Dine in sashimi was refreshing and cold when I sat down to eat there. 10min wait after ordering. Overall good and I'm going back to try more things like the
2burgers ,fries plus a drink special looks like a good deal 1 burger and fries for now and another burger for later after a couple hours of engineering homework. Lady cashier at the front had a smile while helping me which is a small detail that most places miss on within the food industry.

My husband said this is a family owned business when he lived here in 2000s (not sure if it still is but he thinks it still is), we come here every time we visit. Auntie and uncles in the back smash the line down and get em orders out. Food is hot, fresh, and bomb!!

Don't even want to stand in line because of customers smoking cigarettes in the dining area.

Had an appointment nearby so I stopped by St. Louis Drive In for a late breakfast/early lunch. Some of breakfasts were starting at $7, great deal. I have found that I wanted something a little more so I placed an order for a shoyu chicken plate for $12.04 tax included. Yes, very competitive with Rainbow Drive In, Cheap Eats. Once my order came out I sat down and ate and it was good. Can not complain. Good food and good price. The place is not renovated and it gives a nostalgia feeling.

Food ok. My beef was cold but the chicken wings were hot. The hot foods were nice.

VERY VERY NASTY service that should’ve been a dead giveaway to give this place a miss. I didn’t know what to order so I asked for recommendations from the register lady. But she was just simply nasty. I asked if there was cutlery she literally just gave me a stare and said it was inside the most unpleasant experience I have had in Honolulu

St. Louis Drive-In is a gem! The food is consistently delicious, offering classic drive-in favorites with a Hawaiian twist. Their BBQ cheeseburger is a must-try, and the portion sizes are generous for the price. The crispy fries and onion rings are the perfect side, and their plate lunches offer great variety if you’re craving something heartier.

The service is always friendly and fast, even when they’re busy. It’s a casual spot, so don’t expect anything fancy, but that’s part of the charm. Whether you’re grabbing a quick bite or taking food to-go for the beach, St. Louis Drive-In hits the spot every time.

Definitely one of my go-to places when I’m craving comfort food!

Fried scallops were good. We took and Uber to the local and the seating was closed off. The food was unfortunately old and cold, maybe cooked early in the day. It's 4:30pm in the afternoon yet the shrimp tempura and grilled chicken in my meal was cold.

A local institution with yummy grindz. I love the Japanese Deluxe plate. Be patient, ordering and getting your food can take a while, so have some Aloha and enjoy watching the world go by on Waialae.
