Great location, friendly service, and good food. Yes, it is pricy but omakase is generally expensive.

It was a friend's birthday lunch and the first time being here for all of us.

The rice was nice and warm and good fish-to-rice portions. Flounder was my favorite, but you could skip the egg and little disappointed with sea urchin.

We were in a private room and it was very nicely decorated. Simple and clean.

Overall, great experience and perfect for private setting.

Not worth the money ! Uncomforatble seats , and the menu really expensive for qhat you get ! I was hoping that for 180$ it was going to worth but they put a simple salad in. A plastic cup . Not a good experience .

The only Suntory restaurant in the U.S. delivers an authentic Japanese dining experience. The service is exceptional, reflecting the high standards you’d expect in Japan.

The sashimi set was incredibly fresh, and the Wagyu A5 beef was absolutely delicious—both standout dishes. While the prices are on the higher side, the quality of the food and the overall experience make it worthwhile.

If you’re looking for a premium Japanese dining experience, Suntory is a fantastic choice.

I came here to eat Teppanyaki, but it is definitely more expensive than Tanaka of Tokyo. The ingredients are good, but the performance is not at all. It is delicious, but boring for tourists.

Suntory offers authentic Japanese cuisine at affordable prices. We love coming here for the great services as well. Their sashimi, miso yaki butterfish and tempura are our favs. They also have teppan which we go to for special occasions or lunches!

Parking: Park at Royal Hawaiian Center. Get regular validation one hour for free. For local residents for $25 they validate additional 2 hours downstairs.

My friend and I walked in for dinner without reservation and the hostess was really nice and still managed to squeeze us in even though it was a busy evening, after 30min wait we got seated and our waitress approached us, it was a pretty cold rushed inpatient interaction, we picked some items from the menu based of the pictures, when she came back she told us that the pictures actually don’t represent the items, so we were confused what is actually comes with the course, she didn’t explain anything and just left us saying “i’ll let you browse”, then when we found different items she came by and the same thing happened again, so we were trying to figure out what is actually comes with a course ourselves, absolutely no suggestions or recommendations it just felt rushed, we would take a second to think about the item and she would run away, some other waiter tried to help us out and ask if we have any questions but then we heard our waitress yelling at him for picking on our table, so he left apologizing, we finally decided what we want to order and then she told us that it’s too much for two of us and again left without any suggestions, the food we ended up ordering was fine, but the whole interaction with a waitress completely threw us off, we both under 30y.o so we look young and we were dressed really casual, so it felt like we were judged by her like we don’t have money to spend on this type of restaurant, even tho we each spent around 150$ on that dinner and tip we didn’t even get simple glass of water, at the end it felt like we paid to get traumatized. So if you trying to get dinner there and not being happy with a waitress please have more courage than us and ask for a different waiter/waitress! Had a WAY WAY better restaurant experiences for this type of money, wouldn’t return or recommend

If you don't mind luxury, we recommend the counter.
Dinner will be served in two shifts at 5:30 or 8:00 p.m.
It was delicious🥹🍣🦀
There were many ingredients from Hokkaido.
A soft-spoken general who can help you with ingredients you don't like!
Approximately $400 per person

Since October 23rd last year, I have been to Hawaii on my honeymoon and visited the restaurant 2-3 times.
The raw tuna sashimi was so delicious,
All the food was satisfactory.
During my first visit, I remember that the staff member, Kiyomi, was very kind and that she really liked Korean dramas, so even though we didn't talk to each other, we felt close to each other.

A joke of a restaurant. Meh food and boring Agro cook, server was so nice though. As a Waikiki resident I won’t be returning. I’ll just go to Tanaka sad I wasted 300$ on this place.

I tried the seasonal Kamameshi Irodori menu and it was wonderful. This is an American outpost of a true Japanese restaurant owned by the Suntory whisky company. They have something for everybody, great sushi, wonderful fish and meat, rice dishes, other seafood, and beautiful fresh sashimi. Obviously good whisky too. If you are interested in some traditional Japanese food I recommend one of the seasonal menus.

We had teppanyaki. The waitress was very friendly and nice. But the food was just average. For a $200+ course, I would have expected fresh wasabi instead of paste for the wagyu. I ordered the wagyu filet medium rare, but it was served all at once on a cold, open plate in an air-conditioned room. The steak quickly cooled down, making it less flavorful, as wagyu is fatty. They should have put more thought into how to serve the wagyu to maintain its temperature and tastes. The lobsters were presented with only the tails and didn’t look like a fresh catch. I don’t feel the experience was worth the value.

Not sure (at the time of this posting) why the rating for this restaurant is 4.2. It is the only Teppanyaki restaurant in the US that resembles anything you might experience in Japan and the only one with Japanese chefs. Interior design is high end and service is authentic and attentive. Good quality and top notch. Today was our first visit but moving forward will be a regular on our list in Waikīkī.
