We had a fantastic dinner! Chef was great and it was very high-quality. We would recommend highly.
We booked way ahead of time to try their Washoku lunch. This was our first time to Suntory and was very happy with the ambiance, service and food. The only down side was the traffic to park at the Royal Hawaiian Shopping center. We must've caught a convention but do plan on Waikiki traffic. I ended up parking at International Marketplace and walking over.
Food was excellent and at $100 for a 8 course Japanese set dinner, it is excellent value in Honolulu
It's been awhile since I have been to Restaurant Suntory and we normally go for lunch. We decided to try dinner since we were celebrating a birthday and decided on Teppanyaki. - Service was not as good as before. Our waiter needs more training. Our miso soup came out right before the last dish was cooked (steak). Normally comes out with salad or after salad. Upgraded to garlic fried rice and it was just ok.....not sure what happened to the garlic and we ordered an ala carte serving to take home. Ordered $20 pineapple vodka drink only to have to juice our own pineapple. Vodka was served over ice in a glass with cut pineapple on a white plastic pineapple juicer. We weren't quite sure what to do after the waiter served this drink . No word that he would be right back so we decided to juice our own pineapple. BEWARE it appears the restaurant no longer serves the tempura ice cream when you are celebrating a birthday. You'll need to order your own. Other than that the filet, sirloin, salmon, panko shrimp and scallop was delicious and cooked perfectly.
Thanks to the fresh ingredients and carefully prepared dishes, I keep returning to Suntory Restaurant. Especially for family birthdays, they even prepared desserts and flowers, creating a truly unforgettable and touching experience. Thank you so much!
Went there twice; the first time was great and my kid loved lobster, shrimp (which is available for ala carte, though not directly on a la carte menu) , and scallop and also ate a good amount of the beef. So we went second time today but the chef this time was not that great —- the scallop was not fully cooked (I only had raw or fully cooked scallop but never half cooked ones which don’t taste well either). The the foie gras was not fully cooked again so we asked the chef to cook more. The lobster also didn’t have sufficient ingredient/taste in it. My kid didn’t like it much (he is very foody). Posting at a second dinner at another restaurant now 😭(this is a known good place)

It was an amazing experience trying their monthly "Shunsai-Zen" Their fresh season ingredients along with local cuisine made in truly special. I highly recommend their food along with their service and attention to detail.
The two chefs are very knowledgeable and skilled on what they do. The server is very professional and friendly. They served about 14 different dishes and ended with a red bean gelatin dessert. The fish are fresh and tasty... you hardly need to dip it in the light shoyu that they served with the dish. My favorite was the hairy crab with Uni... I love the fact that they served it peeled and shred it for us. After dinner, the chef lined up at the door outside and bowed before us on our way out... Overall, a great experience. I will come back.
Five bright, shining stars all around! We were flying in from Kauai and our flight was delayed TWICE, and it was our last night on Oahu, so we were so grateful that the receptionists were flexible in pushing our dinner reservation back. Upon entering, there is a huge display of Japanese whiskeys. We were promptly seated, and I ordered the $85 Teppan and my BF ordered the $125 steak & lobster. Both meals include panko shrimp, veggies, and salmon. To our surprise, a tasting plate of thin roast beef slices and cheese was brought along with salads. Our entire meal was so flavorful that I did not add any shoyu or dip into the roasted garlic sauce. Also, the garlic fried rice with bits of egg and bacon was tasty all on its own. We both selected the 5 oz. Washu filets, and we were beyond satisfied. The grill master never once rushed us even though we were the last patrons of the night. The restaurant is divided into two elegant rooms: teppanyaki and sushi/sashimi.

The omakase sushi experience was superb and made for a perfect lunch. Stellar food and service (with prices to match). Truly a special occasion.
New year celebration in a private room of the restaurant if the room is available and the food cost is minimum $500. Very good service by the waitress. We chose the set menu as it has pretty much items that we would like to try. It turned out we made a good choice with delicious dishes. As it was a birthday of one member, the restaurant did surprise us with a candle dessert and a small bouquet.

Perfectly cooked tepan...
Freshest Sashimi we have had in a while...
Perfect Japanese whisky to complement...
Exceeded expectations on every box.
I highly recommend eating here at least once while in Waikiki, but make a reservation. We went when they opened and barely made it in. If you want a non-tepan table make a reservation.
