Had a very good experience here for weekend lunch omakase. Staff was very attentive and provided all the information on each type of sushi.

Excellent quality sushi that's on par with the main Ginza Tokyo location. Great service. Top sushi place on the island. Lunch menu is good value.

The restaurant was small and quaint, it only had about 7 seats at the sushi counter, which is about the entirety of the restaurant. The staff there are phenomenal and extremely nice. They really care about the service they provide, constantly cleaning your area, filling your drink, and even show you a picture of the fish for each piece. The restaurant was omakase style, and you have the option to add a few more pieces to it at the end. They served about 15 pieces, along with two apps, and dessert. The sushi itself was overall good, 3-4 outstanding pieces, and the rest were good. Not a single piece was fishy, nor an undesirable texture. My only complaint is that the eel had small fish bones in it.Overall, solid sushi place. As a side note, they refuse to accept tips, as traditionally it's included in the price.

One of the best omakase I’ve had. It is a shame their NYC location shut down. Everyone was knowledgeable and attentive to our needs. They have limited parking available (3 spots). The fish are extremely fresh and are very unique.

Today was supposed to be a celebration on New Year's Eve, and we were looking forward to the dinner. However, upon entering, the entire restaurant was filled with the smell of the sewer, making it difficult to be happy. Despite being seated in a private room, we hoped the smell would be less intense, but it lingered throughout the entire dinner. Not wanting to ruin our long-awaited evening, we asked some incense hoping to mask the unpleasant odor, but it proved ineffective against the nauseating smell. Moreover, the disappointment extended to the dishes; the ingredients were not as fresh as expected, resulting in an ordinary appearance. I had no inclination to photograph the dishes, and the taste was also very ordinary. Forget surprises; some dishes couldn't even pass in my opinion. The hairy crab meat with egg custard was not enjoyable, and the overall quality of the sushi was disappointing. The rice was too firm, and some fish tasted excessively salty. I found satisfaction only in the sweet shrimp sushi, squid sushi, and anglerfish liver.Considering the meal cost $350 per person, my expectations were high, but this disappointing experience ensures I won't be returning. This restaurant truly ruined what could have been a delightful evening.

Fantastic sushi experience. 7-seater bar with 2-3 private rooms that seat anywhere from 4-6 people. Omakase style with most (if not all) of the seafood coming directly from Japan. On the pricier side at $200+ per head, but IMO, most definitely worth the premium over the $150+ a head Omakase bars that are popping up all around Honolulu. The offerings rotate with the seasons, but they always manage to have great bluefin, uni, and ikura. If you're big on hikari-mono or silver-skinned fish, they do a fantastic preparation on those as well when in season.

So good!! We thoroughly enjoyed our time here for lunch. The 15 piece Sora lunch omakase course + chawanmushi, miso soup, omelette and dessert was great value for $150pp and no tip (japanese style). The chefs were friendly and fun, not to mention very skilful. The serving team made us feel welcome and showed us pictures of the different fish that we weren’t familiar with on an iPad. Everything was delicious and fresh, and we were quite satisfied and full but the end of it all. Highly recommend to book a few weeks early!Parking: Small dedicated space for parking but best to look on the neighbouring streets

This is my second time being here, and it is just as incredible as the first. I went with the Arata with a Blue Fin Tuna Upgrade and a Sake Pairing. From the time you sit to the time you leave, you are being bombarded with delicious treats and education on what you're eating. Everything you enjoy flows seamlessly, from the opening Chawanmushi until your Tamago slices and Dessert at the end. I'd share details about my dinner, but they have a constantly rotating menu because it is an Omakase dinner. It's all chef's choice, as they guide your dinner from start to finish. After it is done, they'll hand you a menu for additional upgrades like Bluefin Steak, Abalone, or Hairy Crab with 24k Gold. The staff is cordial, and very knowledgeable. Putting your comfort and giving you the best experience possible for Edomae Sushi will have very few to parallel here on Oahu. The only experience I've had that rivals this is SushiSho, if there are those out there that are looking for a comparison.I will say that this is not by any means a cheap experience, as you'll start on average at $300 a head. And with my aforementioned upgrades and requests for sake you can easily jump this price to double. With that said, it is an awesome date night that will leave you satisfied... and for bigger eaters out there they have things that will satisfy the palate. I will be coming back here, hopefully more than the once a year I have planned. This is an easy recommendation, that I'm elated to share with as many people as I can who are interested in dining experiences.Parking: There are 4 spots 2 for the first seating at 5 and 2 for the second at 7.

The sushi was great. One of the top Omakase in town for sure. Parking is a bit tough, but we managed to secure a spot. The staff was VERY attentive, the service they provided was top notch. Overall I was very happy with the entire experience. Happy eating. Alooooooha

The best omakase experience I've had and my fiance's first omakase exp! I've never been to Japan but as I would expect all the servers in Japan to be extremely gentle, polite, kind, is what we got at Ginza Onodera. It is also extremely clean inside, also the bathroom as well. Our Sushi Chef's name was Yusuke (?) and he had recently transferred from a restaurant working and living in Japan to come to Oahu! You know it has to be legit when that is the case... He was extremely friendly and funny as well, tried his best to explain to us what each fish was and all the complimentary things that came with the fish. However, the waitress also came by with an iPad that showed what fish, and even what part of the fish was. Every bite was mind blowing. I usually hate squid as sashimi but wow I guess I've just never had quality squid before. Obviously not super cheap but not super expensive either for what you get! We got a photo with our chef outside the restaurant when we were done :) Thank you for the wonderful meal and experience!
